“Great location and service”

I recently stayed at the Albergo Giusti, a convent converted to a hotel and run by the Sisters of Santa Anna. We were a group of 6 and only stayed there one night as we transferred to an apartment the next day. We had great difficulty finding a hotel for a single night and so were very glad that they were able to give us 3 rooms for just the single night. The accomadations were not luxury but were newly renovated. They were clean, quiet and the bath was spacious when compared to other places we had stayed. The nuns spoke English and were very accomodating when we asked to leave our luggage with them when we went to the Papal audience after checking out of the hotel. The location is great and price can't be beat, we paid 85 euros for each room. I would highly recommend the Albergo Giusti to anyone traveling to Rome.

We stayed 5 nights after travelling over night from lourdes.

The sisters gave us a three bedroom room even thou we were only a couple. The best thing about staying at this convent is its central location in old historic room. Some of sisters speak english and are very pleasant hosts.

The old down side was the building across the road was being renovated and quite noisy each morning plus it was hotter than hell in our room and unfortunately there is no air con in this convent.

Many nice cafes and restaurants close by.

Will stay at this great value little convent in the future.

Just back from 4 nights/5 days in Rome having stayed with the Sisters of the Sant'Anna convent. The rooms were basic, but comfortable and spotlessly clean. We had a twin room with an ensuite (which included a hair dryer!). The best thing about staying here is the location - it's less than a ten minute walk from the Termini station, 10-15 mins from the Colesseum and the Metro stop Vittore Emanuelle is 3 minutes walk. It's also a very quiet street and there is no traffic noise. We didn't find the 10.30 curfew a problem, because it was so hot in Rome, we were up very early to get the best of the day and were ready for bed by 10.30! There are plenty of nice little restaurants in the vicinity, or if you want to dine in the more touristy parts of Rome a taxi back to the convent from Piazza del Popolo, Piazza Argentina, Piazza Venetia all came in at less that EUR8. I would recommend staying here if you want good value, good location. On our last day there was a metro strike in Rome and the nuns ordered a taxi for us to bring us back to the airport - the Leonardo express wasn't running- which turned up on time and cost EUR31 - an excellent service.

“Clean and comfortable convent”

My 13-year-old son and I just returned from eight days in Rome, staying seven nights at Albergo Giusti, operated by Suore di Sant'Anna della Provvvidenza (email:---). We paid 78 Euro per night for two, including breakfast and private bath. The room was simple, but spotless, with high ceilings and ceramic tile floors and bath. A roomy wardrobe provided more than adequate storage. Large windows facing the street let in ample fresh air and sunlight. The room was not huge but neither were we cramped (we had a little more room than a standard 2-person cruise cabin and a much bigger bath although the shower stall was small).

A simple breakfast was served from 8 to 8:30 am: coffee and hot milk, bread, butter and jelly, pre-packaged breakfast pastries, assorted fresh fruit, yogurt, and mineral water.

Via Giusti is a very quiet street, two blocks west of the Vittorio Emmanuelle metro stop and one block east of Merulana. The location is convenient both for trips by metro and for walking to Sta. Maria Maggiore or the Colliseum area. Because we were on a very tight budget, we especially appreciated the SIR supermercati at the nearest cross-street, where we could buy fruit, cookies, beverages and bottled water for far less than the prices at the tourist sites. There were many reasonably-priced trattoria, bars, and other eating establishments nearby.

Albergo Giusti has a 10:30 pm curfew. Because we were up early for an active day, my son and I never found that a problem. And, since we were heading home while the neighborhood was still actively enjoying the late Roman supper hours, the neighborhood seemed safe. Lovers of nightlife will want to look elsewhere.

There was no evidence of air-conditioning. This could be an issue for those planning a summer trip.

Although most did not speak English, the sisters were friendly and welcoming. We truly enjoyed our stay at this quiet haven in bustling Rome!
