For our first trip to Rome, we decided to check out a convent run hotel much to the trepidation of some members of the extended family who worried about facilities and curfew timings, etc.. We based our choice on the positive reviews this hotel had recieved on TripAdvisor. The price seemed right and the fact that Indian nuns were part of this convent made it even more attractive- someone from our country in a foreign land.
We were not disappointed one bit - Giusti has some of the cleanest rooms ever. They were simple rooms but cheery with their yellow bed-spreads. The towels and linen were snow-white. The rooms and bathrooms were generously sized and one room had a lovely balcony overlooking the garden at the back. Breakfast was adequate - coffee, tea, crusty bread, pastries and yoghurt. The nuns were very helpful - full of advice about where to go and how to get there. They even arranged for a van to take all 8 of us and our luggage to the airport for a very good price. There was no curfew timing as such - you rang a bell and they buzzed you in.
Though the immediate street is not so attractive - the neighbourhood is very pretty with some good shopping to be done as well as great food - we had some of the best gelatos here as well as some Turkish kebabs. Just a few minutes walk away from the main railway station as well as the Colosseum and other sights, Giusti is well located.
All in all, Giusti is a great experience and we will definitely like to go back there.
