“Decent place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 June 2007

For the price, Blue Rose is a nice place. It is a loft with separate bed and bathrooms for multiple guests. The neighborhood is not great. The Termini is the only thing within walking distance, but that does get you anywhere you need to go in Rome.
The rooms are fairly spacious. The kitchen is extremely small and is difficult when there are multiple guests. It is very noisy in the mornings from the traffic. The air conditioners are on timers and go off in the middle of the night, so you wake up sweating.
The place was very clean and the lady that ran it was very nice.
It is a little cheaper than others because of it's location. It is a decent place for those on a budget vacation, if you can stand the heat in summer.

“Nice place with some defeats”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 May 2007

the place is small and clean, rather noisy in the street at night so we closed the windows and switched on the air-conditioner (which I think was as noisy as the traffic on the street). Reasonable walk from the place to Termini and once you were there you could find virtually everything. Breakfast is self-service style. Hot water supply in my bathroom seemed to have some problem as it only enough for 1 person to use, the 2nd one could use warm water and the 3rd one had only cold water to use until the boiler heated up another tank of water a few hours later.

  • Liked — cleanliness
  • Disliked — too noisy traffic out there

“A few warnings”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 March 2007

I want to say straight off that I am not discouraging anyone from staying at this B&B but I think you need to know some things that you may find important. Afterall, the location is pretty good and the rate is excellent for Rome.

The owner of the B&B does not stay there. It is 4 rooms and three bathrooms and a small kitchen, which does not have pots or bowls so you are limited to what you can cook. If you have questions about Rome or how to get around there is no one to ask unless you happen to be there while the owner does stop by.

The sheets and towels were not chaged the three days we were there and that was ok. There isn't a phone with numbers on it. They can call in but you can't call out. There are no smoke detectors which really freaked me out. You may be sharing the B&B at the same time with different people and there are only skeleton keys to lock the doors. I would want better locks on the doors for safety and theft.

That being said if, he you want a really good rate and don't care much about the above it is a good place to stay. It has a lot of potential with just a few changes.

“kindest owner!”

The Blue Rose B&B in Rome is a small, nice and very friendly little B&B. Rooms are nice, bathrooms clean and the B&B is run by the nicest little lady! Anna Rosa was a charming elderly lady who made us feel very welcome and even gave us a painting of Rome (which her brother-in-law had made) to take home!

only negative thing is that it was quite nosy in the morgnings outside the window since all trafic goes by but, hey... that's a small thing to complain about... and perhaps that we swedes are used to a much sterdier breakfast than the italian one.. but, when in Rome...:-)

location was quite allright as well.

we stayded for a week and would definetely recommend others to stay there as well. nice, friendly, clean and (for Rome) quite a reasonable price.

“Family B&B”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 July 2005

I stayed in the Blue Rose for two nights and it is a real Italian B&B! No frills, but safe, clean and run by the sweetest Italian woman - she spoke almost no English but we communicated through gestures and broken Italian.

The neighborhood isn't great in terms of sightseeing, but it is close enough to everything that the low price makes it a great deal!
