“Just an okay place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

I have to say, althought this hotel is close to Airport (FCO) about 15 min. I was not impressed with this hotel. The staff was nice. The room were really basic, clean, but very basic. The basement was the best part of the hotel, really nice spa, great atmosphere. But it will cost you 20 Euros for the use of the Wet Spa. No resturant on premise, but an okay Italian resturant next door. However you can not get Pizza all times of the day. The town of Ostia Antica is quiant. There is an Archelogical Ruin in town. So basicly, if you need a hotel for the night before you fly out, this is an okay hotel, just don't expect much. Be aware that the hotel shuttle runs at certain hours and if you have a flight during the time they don't run, you have to cab it. They don't accomodate beyond the hour they run. There was 7 of us and we had a 6am flight, needed to leave at 4am, we had to get a cab, it was 60 euros for the 7 of us for a 15 min ride. We gave a 10 euro tip because of all of our luggage, post cruise. Need I say more.....

Room Tip: No tip for this Hotel.

“close to the famous ruins of Ostia”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

Stayed at this hotel because it was so close to the airport, and close to the extraordinary ruins of Ostia Antica -- hundreds of buildings from the ancient port of Rome. You can get to the archaeological park by free public bus that stops outside the hotel or walk several kms. The hotel is a good value. The room was fine and the staff very friendly. It's a bit of a walk into town to find a restaurant or bar. The hotel itself has only a modest bar and no food in the evening, although the breakfast was very good.

“Ok when you arrive late night and don't want to go straight to Rome.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

We choosed this hotel because we arrived late night from Amsterdam and there wasn't train to Rome, so we decided to sleep near the airport to take the train to Rome next day, The hotel is simple but it was cleaned, nice bed and offered a breakfast included in the rate. This was enough for what we were expecting.

“Good for airport”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 December 2011

Ok so you're on a budget. This place is 10 mins from the airport. 15 euro each way in their bus. You need to book it. 3 euro per hour wireless in the lobby. 10 euro for pizza and large beer in Nonnas restaurant next door. Clean basic secure rooms and friendly staff. No complaints.

“An out of town base”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 December 2011

We booked 7 nights in the Ostia Antica Park Hotel as we were visiting family in nearby Acilia. The location is a couple of kms out of Ostia Antica on a busy road. If you are looking for places to walk to eat and drink this may not be the hotel for you, however as a lower cost alternative to Rome it was great. The room was perfectly ok. A comfy bed, nice terrace, TV, minibar and an extremely powerful shower. All spotlessly clean. Breakfast was a buffet affair with a variety of pastries, fruit, ham, cheese etc. There is a restaurant right next door which does great pizza and you can buy it as a takeaway to eat in your room if you wish (2 good size pizzas cost us €14). The communal bar and lounge areas were clean and comfy and the staff were very helpful.
It takes 30-40 mins on public transport to get into Rome. Take the 04 bus from outside the hotel to Acilia Station, and from there pick up the train to Basilica Sao Paulo (also known as Pyramid). From here you can access the whole metro system and if you buy a whole day ticket you get unlimited bus and train travel for 4€.
The hotel offers a shuttle bus to the airport for 15€ per room, but this stops running at 11am so for afternoon flights a taxi is needed (approx 35€).
We paid €351 for 7 nights through a booking site, and to be honest were delighted with the value for money and will certainly use the hotel again.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the pool have a better view
