“Nice but remote”

Elyse

2.5 stars would have been about right, had it been available.
It is a 10-15 min walk from Termini, far enough with luggage, and first impressions are not good, very scruffy outside. However, once through the doors it is clean enough inside, though the photos are very flattering and taken quite some time ago.
The staff have limited English, but then again you are in Italy, and I found them all very pleasant. The room was very basic, maybe the pitfalls of being a single which always draws the short straw with rooms, and overlooked the rail system which meant it was pretty noisy and no sign of air con but the bathroom was fine even if it was a juggle round the door to get to the toilet.
The breakfast was basic rolls/small cakes/juice/tea/coffee but was fine for me though people with a more “American” diet would want more.
There was a pleasant courtyard at the back but no sign of a bar.
The big problem for me was the location as it was a fair walk to get to anything and there are a lot of hotels of all grades better located and I feel that it is a bit overpriced for what you get.

“Meh”

Great location, located right next to Roma Termini however the close proximity of so many trains and trams will provide an alarm clock that you can hear and feel starting at 5 in the morning. Rooms small, old and barely adequate, however if arriving on a late train and looking for a simple, cheap place to rest for the night I'd recommend it. No Internet in lobby or in rooms, when you see how old this place is it won't surprise you. Hotel staff very pleasant and helpful.

“Definetly not a 3* hotel”

Cons - Rooms is shabby looking, the carpet in the reception is stained and dirty looking. Not a safe area to stay particularily for a single traveller. I felt very uncomfortable walking in the area especially after dark. I am not a picky traveller but I will not stay here again.
Pros - Very close to Termini station, hence convinient to get to airport and get around the city.

“Lovely hotel, just away from the touristy part of rome”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2009

The hotel is about ten minute walk from the Termini station in Rome, direct trains run every half hour from the City airport. The area around the hotel is a bit slumby looking, a lot of small creepy shops and homeless, but the hotel is a little diamond in the rough! The hotel itself is fairly classically decorated, with a warm comfortable family feel to the staff. When my boyfriend and I checked in (speaking no Italian) the girl at the desk gave us a map of Rome, and wrote all over it, showing us the best bus, tram and train routes to get around town, she showed us which attractions were free, which were actually worth going to, even where people our age go out at night, where the cool bars were etc. Unbelievably helpful, we ditched our typical tourist guidebook and stuck to her map, and we got around EVERYWHERE we wanted to and saved a lot of money! We didn't actually see any trouble there, but you wouldn't want to be walking around the area alone at night, but the hotel is mighty conveinent and the staff are lovely.

“Nice hotel, area not so nice”

I visited this hotel with my teenage daughter for a get-a- way break to see the historic sites of Rome.
The staff were friendly and approachable.
Breakfast was a bit meagre, coffee and two rolls, which was fine for us.
Our room was quiet as it was at the back of the hotel. The room was large and clean, but in need of updating. The bathroom was large, clean and with plenty of towels.
The area the hotel was situated in was dingy, with grafitti and litter, and no near by restaurants.
It was also too close to the railway station for night time walking, as it made us both feel uncomfortable.
It was central enough if you are willing to walk, which is the best way to take in all the atmosphere of this great city.
