“Basic hotel, perfect location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 November 2011

We book this hotel through expedia in November and it was a delightful experience. It is a great little place for the budget traveller. The Hotel Felice was cheap, lovely located and the staff were very helpfull. Our triple room and the bath were very clean and comfortable. Close to the bus stop 71 and Termini station area. When we return to Rome we will booking this hotel again.

“There are better options at this price tag”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2011

The room is old and super basic - other than toilet paper, towels and 2 sachet of shampoo, there's nothing else and no air-conitioning. Rooms on the inside have windows that open into a shared courtyard that is very noisy at night. The rooms themselves have paper thin walls - every sound your neighbor makes including toilet flashing can be heard loud and clear. There are also some rooms without shower/ WC...we've bumped into people wrapped in towels along the corridor. The saving grace is that it's clean and the staff though English challenged are friendly and willing to help.
A surprise is that we were told they only accept cash when we arrive - though the website clearly stated that we can pay by cards. The neighborhood is not one of the best and the walk to the termini is about 10 - 15 minutes.
I know Rome hotels are expensive, but at this price tag, there are better choices closer to the termini. Sorry!

“Terrible room - like a prison cell (see the photo)”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 October 2011

Our room looked like a "luxury" prison cell - a big bathroom with a double bed (see the photo). The location of the hotel is bad too. It is not close to the city center. The hotel is 20 min walking distance to Termini train station from where you can use bus/metro to go to the city center. But don't rely on the public transport in Rome it is one of the worst in Europe. In addition, at night this area is full of homeless people and looks quite intimidating. I definitely recommend to not book this hotel - too overpriced for the quality what you get.

The cleaning service did not change our towels and bed sheets. The breakfast is only a cafe and a croissant - the hotel does not have a restaurant and sends the guests to the cafe which is in front. The last day the guy from the reception called us at 10:00 and in quite rude way asked us to leave - "Sir you have 10 minutes to check-out." There is a bar at the same building and it is very noisy to sleep. There is no air conditioner.

The first day when we arrived and saw this terrible room I asked to cancel the reservation. They said that it is not possible and that still they will charge me for the full 4-nights reservation. I asked to upgrade to a better room in the same hotel - they said that I need to make a new reservation and still pay the full price for the prison cell.

Room Tip: This hotel is terrible. Book another hotel.

“Don't choose hotel Felice”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

Honestly, I have taken the look of the review here before I finally made the booking, and I have to say I have made a wrong decision. Look at those reviews with high score, sometimes I just wonder if we are stay in and talk about the same hotel.

Have stayed 3 nights there, and the experience is terrible.

a. NO English communication AT ALL! Bfore going there, I have written couple emails for the confirmation, but NEVER got an answer back! And there is NO English speaker at the reception. Sometimes there would be an old man in the morning who can speak just a little English, but his attitude is not that type of nice and willing to help. And I have NEVER met Marco, the nice guy that those lucky reviewers have met.

b. Be extremely careful when you book the room! There is no single word on the web telling you that the standard room is actually shared WC and shower! We have just been fooled by the word "STANDARD". Of course, its our negligence that not looking carefully that "comfort" room does provide shower. But is it so difficult that the hotel to explicitly state what DOES have and what DOES NOT have for each type of room?! We have booked standard rooms in other cities like Florcence, Venice, Milan and some other small towns, all has private bath! The even worse thing is, there is ONLY 2 shared bathroom on one single floor.

c. Very noisy. At night, the noice of neighborhood (a bar just across the street) and the traffic are so big that you can only shut the window completely to make the sleep. But there is NO air con in the room! Or you can wait until early 2-3am in the morning, when everything finally goes quiet, to make your sleep.

To make it short, I have been to Europe for couple times, and have stayed in more than 50 hotels in various cities and towns in Europe, THIS IS THE WORST HOTEL THAT I HAVE EVER STAYED!! NOT WORTH A SINGLE DOLLAR!!

“Convenient!”

We stay in this good hotel for 5 nights in our italy's holiday. The Felice was good, with friendly staff and amazing hospitality. This was our first time visiting Rome and the hotel location was perfect, close to the Termini Station, roman restaurant and markets. Marco at the reception give us a map and showed us all the point of interest in Rome, Marco was very important for our Rome's tour. The hotel Felice is a small family run hotel with clean rooms and basic price. We want to stay again next time.
