I foud this place online before leaving for Italy from Minnesota. The price was right (E-65/night) and not all that far from the central Roma train station. The front of the building has a 12' high double door (large enough for a car to drive through, which did happen during our stay) that opens onto a courtyard. The hotel is actually on the third floor of the building. We needed 4 keys to enter through 4 doors to get into our room....not a problem. Our room was comfortable with a private bath (rooms with shared baths were a little cheaper but not by much). The night was quiet and peaceful until 7AM when a business in the building started a pounding noise. At 7:30 I heard a car start and looked out the window into the courtyard to see someone drive out through the front double doors. Overall we enjoyed the place, true Italians, very friendly and accomodating. We went into the owner's apartment to pay. A nice first night in Italy experience, close to a few restaurants and a great gelato place right across the street. Not a touristy location, where the locals live and hang out. We liked it a lot.
