We went for a week's sightseeing and so, with this little place being so close to the city centre (10/15 minutes walk? And a very nice walk at that) it was ideal. Free maps of the city in the lobby, clean, simple, cool rooms and nice staff. Don't think it did any breakfast but there were a few places to sit get coffee and cake on the street below so it was a nice wake up to get out and sit in the sun first thing. Subway is only about 10minutes away too - ideal place for a few quiet days away in the city.

Rome was fully booked a month in advance because of the marathon. We have booked a french bed room with shared bathroom. When we arrived we were given a room with inside bathroom for the same price, which was very good. The room, bed and bathroom was small, but that's usual in Rome. The room needed a restyling, but it was OK. There was a problem with the hot water, it would finish at some time. The boiler needed to be reset. Since when this would happen we were always in a hurry, we had to shower with cold water. We complaint with the owner and asked for a reduction, paying 2 nights over 3. If you book in advance, you can find nicer options for the same value.

The location is very good, next to MTR station, 15-20 mins walk to St. Peter sq. Vatican. There is supermarket nearby.

Room are clean, bed is comfortable.

Good value for the price we paid.

Just 1 point to complain about is the room scents of cigarette.

If you're only in Rome for a short while (4 days or so) and you want to save money and stay in a clean safe place, then the Paradise Pension may suit you.

When looking for a place to stay in Rome at an affordable price, it was a challenge to find something in a good location.

Paradise Pension is in a great location. The neighbourhood itself always felt safe and has a good mix of residential and shops. In addition, the Metro is located about 3 doors away, however we ended up walking to all attractions from the Pension.

To get this kind of deal, there are some compromises, but overall, we were satisfied with our choice.

The Good
- Great neighbourhood and location
- Very secure building (3 locks / doors to get to your room and always someone on staff)
- Clean room wih nice spartan decor
- Flat scrn TV
- Water temp/pressure good
- Fairly sound-prood (except for street noise)
- Free WIFI (some reception problems)
- Friendly staff

The not as good
- Room got warm.....fan compensated. OK for September, but imagine it could get ubearable for some people in summer.
- Compact bathroom - don't drop soap in shower....not much room to bend over
- No breakfast.....however I did manage to get some take out at the (very good) corner store, although take-out doesn't seem to be the norm in Italy.
