“great location, safe, friendly staff, clean and classy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2010

i think this hotel is a family run hotel. and the owner try their best to accomodate us, 24 hour staff (no curfew) but i was annoyed by one of the staff who asking me about why am i going out at 12midnight, what time i will be comeback coz he is watching people come in and out... funny.

Yes, you want to taking care of your guest, but dont be like a jail warden because i'am in hotel not in jail.

But, its recommended to you to stay here because the place is clean, classy, huge room for two, clean and cosy toilet and great coffee!!! and antique elevator..... so nice. My room number was 28 and situated infront of the computer and wifi router... i love that room.

“great value for not too long stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 July 2010

Rome is expensive, so for this price the hotel is perfect ;)
Great location if you want to visit Rome for couple of days and don't waste time for getting to the centre by public communication.
Rooms are very small and have thin walls but they are clean and air-conditioned. There is even wi-fi internet included in the price. Breakfast is ok - some breadrolls, jam, yoghurts, juice and coffee/tea. It's enough for the hot mornings.
Staff is friendly and helpful.

“Clean, safe, good location close to Termini”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 May 2010

We stayed at Hotel Ascot for 3 nights in May and were pleased. It is a less than 10 minute walk from Termini (very convienent for early train departure which we had). We walked everywhere in Rome except to the Vatican which was a 10 minute Metro ride away. We didn't really hang out in the area around the hotel but felt safe even walking home late at night. It was clean and no frills which was perfect for us. It has a lift and 24 hour reception and also a computer for public use. Breakfast was included and included rolls, pastries, yogurt, coffee and juice. Good water pressure and hot water as well. Overall we were pleased and would recommended it to a friend.

“Very good choice!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 March 2010

We have stayed in hotel Ascot for 3 nights and have to say that we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms are larger than we expected. The furnishings have aged a little, but everything was spotless! Also they clean your room every day. The breakfast was very good. Obviously the choice is limited and mainly sweet, but there was plenty to have including yogurts, juice, cheese and choice of fresh coffee or tea. According to the rest of my family, the coffee was nice. We really appreciated the 24 hour reception and the possibility to keep our luggage there as both of our flights were late at night. The couple running the place was very welcome and helpful. Also the computer with Internet available in the hallway was also handy.
The only little drawback is the noise when you get room facing the main street. But when the windows are shut, the isolation is pretty good. However, if you are light sleeper, earplugs might be a good idea.
Overall, we can certainly recommend this hotel for your stay in Rome. Beside everything I have mentioned already, the hotel is in good position for the sightseeing and traveling. I think that everything is within walkable distance (Rome is not that big), but if you do not want to walk too much a frequent bus station is right outside the hotel.

“Great hotel in a fantastic location and really good value for money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2009

I was visiting Rome to watch Fulham play AS Roma in the Europa Cup. I was only there for two nights and so location was really important as I didn't want to spend ages travelling in and out of the city. The Hotel Ascot is in a fantastic location just a 5 minute walk from Rome Termini - the main Train and Metro station. The directions provided by the hotel are spot on and make it easy to find. The hotel itself is located on the 2nd floor of an apartment block so don't look for a ground floor reception area. When you turn in to the street it is the first door you come to on the right hand side. I stayed in room 22 just behind reception it had 2 single beds a writing desk and a wardrobe - all of which were in good condition. The room itself was clean as was the bathroom, which had a toilet, shower, sink and bidet. Clean towels were provided every day and the beds were made daily as well. Breakfast was continental and included coffee, tea, fresh orange juice. Yoghurts, croissants, cheese, ham, bread, butter and jams. If you are looking for a basic place to stay while you explore the city, in a good location, which offers good value for money then you should definitely stay at the Hotel Ascot.
