“Fantastic stay, great value, excellent staff, very clean!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 June 2007

We stayed at the Pincio from May 11th thru the 18th and had a wonderful time. We were lucky enough to get the only room on the top floor, right across from the breakfast mezzanine and it was excellent. Room 74 is a corner room at the back of the building with two windows and a beautiful cross breeze.

In the mornings we woke to the smell of coffee and breakfast and for the rest of the day the floor was ours. Breakfast service was outstanding!

We traveled with friends who's room was on the 3rd floor and every evening we would meet on the mezzanine and have a glass of wine before heading out for dinner. It was like our own private terrace.

Our friend's room faced the street and for the first two days their a/c wasn't cooling their room adequately. Opening their windows let the street noise in and so they weren't really happy until the a/c was working properly.

Our room was very clean, the maid service was excellent, and everyone on staff was as nice as could be. The Internet access wasn't what I'd expected - I brought my laptop thinking I could get online - but they had an Apple desktop in a computer room downstairs available. It was still valuable being able to download my camera pictures onto my laptop but otherwise having it was useless. The shower was small, a tight fit, and if you drop the soap you better be able to squat 'cause there's not enough room to bend over. Be sure to bring a travel adapter for the electricity!

This was our first trip to Rome and we definitely want to go back. Staying at the Pincio again would be wonderful. We loved our location and probably logged 6 to 8 miles a day seeing the sights and wandering around Rome.

Because the hotel elevator doesn't go down to the first floor, the Pincio wouldn't be a great hotel for someone with a walking issue - but for that matter Rome might not be a good idea either as there's a lot of walking to do.

“Lcation, location, location- brilliant.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 May 2007

Location excellent for walking to the Spanish Steps & Trevi and not far from all of the ancient sites, we easily walked tofrom the Vatican Cty. Our first morning I was out running at 6 in the Borghese Park, which is just up nearby Pincio Hill & behind the Steps. An hours canter before a shower & breakfast which is served between 7 & 10am.
The rooms are clean & well looked after with plenty of drawer space etc.
Staff helpful & always attentive.
No problems recommending to anyone looking for a relaxing base. Breakfast were usual continental but plenty of it & set us up for the day.
Quaint lift which holds 4 people or 2 with luggage!.
Real value for money.

“Good but not perfect”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 April 2007

The rooms are somewhat small, but the location is great and the service helpful.

Location:
The location is very convenient. Pincio is on a quiet street located between the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. So all of Rome is at your doorstep and a short walk away. The metro stops of both Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain are also nearby for getting to the train station.

Rooms:
Our room was definitely a bit small. The bathroom did not have much extra room. The tv didnt have anything but Italian programming, but hopefuly you arent going to Rome to sit in front of the TV. I also personaly found the room decoration somewhat ugly.

Staff:
The staff was a friendly group. Consider this: despite having booked our room weeks in adcance, we were greeted by a dumbfounded front desk who said no rooms were available so the man at the front desk was very apologetic and made sure to right it by putting me up in the Hotel Concordia (a slightly nicer hotel actually) across the street for a night. His apologies were the most sincere I have ever seen from a hotel staff and he really cared to make sure he fixed it even though the fault was of the day staff not him specifically. We also spoke a few times with the hotel manager who was very friendly and helpful in offering suggestions as to where to tour around.

“Great location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 April 2007

We have just returned from a six night stay at the Hotel Pincio in Rome. We were looking for a hotel close to some of the attractions in Rome and this hotel was perfect as it was just minutes away from the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and the main shopping streets. The room in the hotel was surprisingly large, the staff were so helpful and friendly. The added bonus of free internet access in reception was great. I would most certainly recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Rome and was reasonably priced for the time of year (Easter). I have nothing negative to say about this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

“Pincio is clean, has nice stuff and a very convenient location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 February 2007

Very nice room to the back. Street side is not very noisy, but backside is much better.
You have to go up one flight of stairs without elevator to the reception on the first floor, but stuff will help you with luggage. Noisy elevator and rather thin walls, but compared to other hotels in Rome, really a bargain.
Nice breakfast terrace above the roofs with marvelous view, Fontana di Trevi, Spanish steps, Forum Romanum, Piazza Navona, Pantheon and so on in walking distance. Very near to Villa Borgese.
Ideal for summer, room with nice tiles on the floor, probably rather cool.
Very good matrasses, enough clean towels, and very nice stuff.
To be recommended.
