We booked 2 months in advance for a room for 4 persons. When we arrived, the manager said there was no room left in the hotel and wanted to move us to Solis hotels in some other locations. After wasted 3 hours in arguing at the front desk, the manager put us in a double room with 2 extra beds and insisted it is a "Quadruple". When arrived home, I checked the hotel website (http://www.hotelsolis.it/rooms.htm) and indeed we stay in a double room with 2 extra beds but was charged for a "Quadruple". We were conned!! Other than good location, there is nothing worth staying in this hotel. The room was dark and noisy, breakfast was poor, staff in the breakfast room was extremely rude.

Best location in the city. steps away from the ruins and coliseum. Hotel staff was wonderful. Very helpful and speak english. Our room had two twin beds and was very small. about a foot in between each bed and the walls. That was the only down side. The location made up for it. I would stay there again but ask about their larger rooms.

A small hotel a stone's throw away from the Colosseum and Forum Romanum, near Piazza Venezia (=quite near good shopping streets in downtown) and Metro stations "Cavour" and "Colosseum". Our rooms were big enough but ours had a dirty old wall-to-wall carpet (not good if you're allergic like me) and it faced the street so it was so noisy that I had to sleep with earplugs (since I'm a light sleeper and Via Cavour seems to be quite a busy street even at night). The bathroom wasn't very clean either and overall the room was quite worn down. Breakfast was better than we expected (still don't expect a full continental breakfast...). The worst dissappointment, however, was the reception staff. They cheated us with the minibus transfer to the Airport (Fiumicino): They asked 80 euros (for 5 people) but we heard that the correct price would have been 55 euros only! We tried to renegotiate but the lady at the reception just shouted at us very impolitely... So they got 25 euros for one phone call... Not very good service for your own hotel guests, I would say.

Not good value for the money, surly staff (esp in the evening), room was barely cleaned. Very small breakfast room with indifferent service.
