Qualities : nice staff, rather good location, correct bed

Bad points:
-shower was strange : the shower is the whole bathroom, you find the toilets and the sink inside! But, well, it works more or less...
-breakfast : you have to go to a cafe close from the hotel. Coffe and croissant included. If you want a little toast - 3€, orange juice - 3€

We stayed at Joli in Rome for 7 nights. We didn't expect so much because of the low price. When we arrived we met a very nice receptionist who welcomed us and gave us some information.
The room was clean and comfortable. We had read about the tiny bathrooms, but our bathroom had a perfect size.
The roof fan was a bit noisy so one afternoon when we came back to our room we was informed that they had put a fan at the floor. We hadn't complained at all, they noticed the problem themselves when they were cleaning one morning.
Every morning we had to walk to a very nice and familiar café, just around the corner, for breakfast, coffee and a croissant. That was OK for us.

It's perfect to stay at this hotel. It's so close to everything, if you don't want to walk it is easy and cheap to go by bus or Metro.

Hotel is situated on a popular and pretty street, about ten minutes walk from the Vatican & St Peter's Square (two of the major Rome 'must do's' in the tourist manual!). We appreciated the less frenetic feel of this part of town even though the aforementioned places are such a draw for visitors.

Arrived a little early to check-in so went for a wander and returned at the appointed time. Hotel is located on the sixth floor of a rather grand looking block of apartments. Came back and were greeted by a friendly receptionist who gave us the key (Room 45) as well as tokens for a breakfast (nice local cafe just around the corner, two minute walk) and a map of the city with the hotel marked on it.

We found our room to be perfectly acceptable for the Joli's star rating. Everything was clean and functional. Bed was comfy, two singles joined together but not the type that induces a nightime slip between the gap between the two beds! Shower and toilet/bidet was in essence a wet room and although not at all luxurious, you don't get luxury at these prices in Rome, was fine. TV and ceiling fan too lest we forget.

In essence a really good choice if you are willing to accept the 'limitations' of a budget hotel and instead focus on the location and charm of the area it is located in.

Apologies for the awful picture which is the view from the room we stayed in, we were too busy to think much of snapping the hotel itself!

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights, we had a splendid view on the Basilica San Pietro. The rooms are pretty big and were cleaned every day, staff very friendly and helpfull. The breakfast is served at a cafe, about 3 minutes away from the hotel. The hotel itself it's not very stilish, but it's a great starting point in visiting the major turistic atractions in Rome. You have Piazza San Pietro and the Vatican Museums about 10 minutes away, same for Castel S'angelo, Piazza Navona and The Panteon about 20 minutes walk. For the rest of the sites, you can take the metro ( station Ottaviano) and it will take you to all the rest ( Piazza del Popolo, Fontana di Trevi, Piazza di Sapgna, Colosseum, etc). A pass for three days costs 11 EUR, and the transport is fast.
Also, about the hotel, it must be said that the rooms have a very small bathroom with no ventilation, except a small fan. A 5 minute shower with warm water steams up the room guaranteed. Apart from that, be advised that the breakfast if formed from a coffe or tea and a croissant, which is the general breakfast for all italian people. Also, be advised, that this is family run hotel, and if you plan on staying out after 1 am, you have to ask for the key at the entrance.
