Spent one night at B&B Annette two weeks ago.

PRO's: Location, spacious room, ensuite bathroom with shower and bidet more than adequate, spotlessly clean and wooden parquet floor (which I prefer to carpet because of my allergy), kitchen allows you to use fridge an have a drink whenever you want. Slept really well (we are 'heavy' sleepers - light sleepers: see con's!)

CON's: 'breakfast' is hardly worth being called this, even for Italian standards. Some yoghurt, juice, eggs to boil, no decent bread (sorry, some pre-packed industrial slices to toast is NOT bread). Light sleepers may not want to book here, even though we are 'heavy' sleepers and had the quiet room facing the inner court, the hallway is noisy (floors and doors 'squeak' and loud accoustics in general and guest of other rooms have to go through hallway to go to the bathroom/toilet).

We wanted to be in this B&B mainly for its great location and because we were moving to hotel Diplomatic the next day (was fully booked for our first night) in the same area andthat we already knew from a previous stay a year and a half ago.

If I compare the 90euro we paid here to almost the same rate 100euro (admittedly exceptional promotion, previous time we paid 130) for our double room at Diplomatic, with full service (B&B Annette is not staffed!), fresh plentiful breakfast served with a smile,... then we got much more value for money at Diplomatic.

So to us the B&B Annette is really OK, and if there's no availibility at comparable prices elsewhere in the area we would book it again.

A reasonably priced B&B in what can be a pricey city in which to stay. Annette B&B is impeccably clean and located on the ground floor of a beautiful building within walking distance of Castel Sant Angel, St Peters, Piazza Navona & the Pantheon, along with numerous other sights. Breakfast is obviously included in a breakfast room/kitchen in which you help yourself to toast, eggs, cakes, etc. Each room also has it's own space in the communal fridge should it be required. Rooms facing the busy via Cresenzia can be noisy but having stayed in many places in Rome over the years I can honestly say that this is a hard one to escape. Just accept the street noise as part of what makes Rome Rome and all will be well. The owners make you feel very welcome and are very accommodating. The Annette B&B is a real find and you will not be disappointed!

I visited Rome with my brother in early October. We were looking for a clean and safe hotel at a budget price. This hotel is a little farther out from the tourist center in a very safe bustling Vatican neighborhood. If you are comfortable walking you could easily walk over the many foot bridges (20 mins) from the Castel Sant Angelo into the heart of Rome and still do a whole lot of sightseeing along the way. If you want to use public transportation, there is a bus stop 1 block away where you can take the express bus into the Termini Station and other destinations. If you prefer the subway, you could walk 10 minutes to the Ottaviano stop and go into the city. The hotel is 2 blocks from the Castel Sant Angelo and 2 blocks away from the Vatican sites. Expect clean rooms, modern bathrooms, no telephone, a small color TV, safe, and air conditioning in a small bed and breakfast environment. Breakfast is self serve from the refrigerator which is stocked with some orange juice, yogurt, cheese, and milk. Coffee maker and toaster are at your disposal. Be advised that although the website says internet access in every room this is is not exactly true. You need to ask the owner for the software that has to be installed on your computer. We were never brought the software even though we asked for it!
