“THIS PLACE IS THE PITS”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 April 2006

DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT THIS PLACE. We didnt want luxury at all from our accomodation but we we got here was nothing short of a disaster. Yes, the rooms are small. The shower is over the toilet, thats how cramped our bathroom was. Our room backed onto the rear of the reception and so the vending machine kept going off all night and the noise from the kitchen on the morning was argghhhhh disturbing. The stupid cleaners through out my partners contact lenses and all we were told was "tough" they shouldnt have been in the bathroom and to call our travel agent....after trying to sort this out with them directly they switched off our hot water, NOT that there was much hot water to start with. OH and our "continental" breakfast was a basket full of croissants and a juice machine which didnt work. do not stay here, keep looking, im sure theres better basic hotels than this one.

“Simple and Basic”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 March 2006

I visited Rome and stayed at this hotel for one night. The staff was friendly and spoke english and spanish (italian of course). The room is very basic with a TV and bed and bathroom (Didn't even use the TV). Great place to rest for the night, but not anything extravagant. I wanted to stay in town, near the trains, cabs, etc with no real regard to luxury acommodations. Monaco gave me that. The breakfast was great with several different types of fruitfilled rolls, coffee, and juices (no charge). After that, I was on my way. Do you want luxury Hotel? Don't Stay here. Do you want a basic clean place to lay your head and freshen up close to trains (3 blocks)? Try this place.

“great weekend with my (adult) kids in Rome”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 December 2005

My kids (24 and 26 jr) offered me (63) a trip to Rome; We got (by internet) a room for three persons three nights and breakfast. We could walk from termini station to the hotel (less than half an hour). The elevator was out of order, but the stairs took only one turn. The room was fine, a single bed for my daughter and 170 cm/180 bed for my son and me with two matrasses. The lightbulb in the bathroom was ok at that moment, later not, and the promise to repair it was not fullfilled when we left on monday (ok where do you find your handyman in the weekend). Room, towels and sheets, soap, toilet, douche, spic and span clean
Breakfast was simple, but we could take what we wanted (marmelade and bread) Drinks available hot milk, coffee, thee, chocolate from an apparate.
The man at the entrace was kind, there was a map from Rome to take with you on your tour.
On saturday we could go for a walk because the hotel is near all great sites. On sunday to Vatican-city we used the subway, and walked back.
We really do recommend this place. Simple and usefull.

“It is quite good”

In my opinion, it was a good place to rest. It is not a place for a Honey moon coz it is not luxurious the price indicated that, but It was a nice and tidy room and cosy with clean sheets. I liked it... I recommend it for an economic trip.

“Disappointing”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2005

I was very disappointed in my stay here. This was the last hotel we stayed in in Italy. The area welcoming us was okay. Our room was very tiny. It reminded me a lot of a dorm room. There also were not very many lights. The bathroom was tiny- if you sat on the toilet your knees would almost hit the sink. Also, to wash your hands youhad to open the bathroom door and stand in the room because there was not enough room to stand in front of the sink with the bathroom door closed.

Our major disappointment though was with the staff. They were very friendly and welcoming when we got there. We left to go out for the evening and asked about getting a taxi the next morning to the train station. The man at the desk told us to come back in the morning about 15 minutes before we wanted the taxi. I told him it would be about 6:15am and he said that was fine. Well, we got up early the next morning and went to the desk around 6:15am. There was no one there. We proceeded to ring the bell on the desk 6 times and no one came. I walked the halls a bit and all I found was a man sleeping on the floor in the hallway which I found appalling. We had to leave our key on the desk because we could not check out (we had prepaid the hotel) since there was no one at the desk. I was furious because we had to walk to the train station and ended up missing the train we wanted to take to the airport.

On our way to the airport I realized we had left some pictures and souvenirs in our hotel room. They were gifts from Italian relatives we visited while in Italy. We called the hotel as soon as we got checked in at the airport. There was a lot of noise in the background when someone finally answered. I told them who I was, that I had left our key on the desk and that I left some pictures in our room which I wanted sent to me. The man on the phone then told me he was busy and that he had to work and hung up on me. I called my parents (it was 3am in the States) and they called me travel agent since I had a 10 hour flight home. After not responding to my travel agent and hanging up on another travel agent, my travel agent was able to find someone to speak passable Italian. The hotel supposedly agreed to send my pictures. It has been 2 months and I have not received my pictures. Those were family gifts that were meaningless to them, but meant the world to us. I even e-mailed and faxed the hotel a several weeks later and received no response from either. I am very disappointed. Such service is intolerable in my opinion and I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone.
