“great location and comfortable rooms”

My husband and I stayed in Boncompagni Suite for 5 nights. The location is perfect, it is close to all the main sights and transportation. The neighborhood is nice, just far enough from the busy tourist areas, but close enough to walk. The rooms are comfortable, and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Our next trip to Roma will definitly be spent at Boncompagni Suite.

“A pleasant stay”

We stayed 4 nights and found the staff friendly and helpful. The room (room 111) was a good size, clean, nicely furnished and comfortable. The windows open and were double glazed so that when shut traffic noise is virtually eliminated. Overall a little haven to come back to after a hard day of touristing. Some pretty minor niggles: we ordered pineapple juice for breakfast but got orange on 2 of the mornings, the arrival time of the breakfast was slightly random, the shower head wouldn't stay in place and needed tightening, and it took them several days to replace a lightbulb.

The B&B is in a nice area surrounded by banks and embassies but is not exactly in the centre of the action. Allow a 10 minute walk to get to the nearest tube station (Barbarini), 15 minutes to the Spanish Steps. That said we were happy with the location and a reasonable bus service goes down the street.

“Highly recommend the Boncompagni Suite B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2005

We stayed at the Boncompagni as part of our Italian holiday for 2 nights while in Rome. My husband and I stayed in Room 115 (I think) which was right behind the front desk. This b&b was spotless and modern. It is in a convenient location only a few blocks from all the main attractions (Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, great restaurants etc). The staff was very friendly and offered to help us look up train schedules and arranged taxis for us. There is a tiny elevator which you can send your luggage up 1 floor to the b&b that can also hold two adults (but that's it, its tiny). The staircase is right next to the lift and is marbled with shallow steps very easy to walk on. The b&b will give you a number of keys during your stay. 2 for the building access and 1 for the b&b and another for your room. Breakfast was included with our room and delivered to our room at a time of our choosing. Typical Italian breakfast with rolls, jams, juice, cheese and coffee it was excellent. The hotel was also very quiet, the bed comfortable, a television (that didnt work so well) and a mini fridge stocked with bottled water, soft drinks and even beer/wine. The only downfall with our room was the towels were musty smelling and the sink didn't drain properly, two things the hotel could improve upon. There was a good wall hairdryer in the room and beautiful marbled bathroom with a nice shower. We stayed in a few other places during our Italian holiday (Sardinia, Florence and Venice) and the stay at Boncompagni was the best. We had a chance to peek in the other rooms when the maid was cleaning. All the other rooms were a little bigger than ours but beautiful. Spotless with lovely traditional furnishings and nice hardwood floors. If we are lucky enough to end up in Rome again we will definitely stay at this hotel again. Prices were reasonable and its a good bet for Rome.

“Fit our needs”

We are a family of 4 just returned from a month in Italy. We began our trip with 2 nights in Rome at the Boncompagni. We had a lovely 2 bedroom suite which served our needs perfectly as we slept off jet lag in Rome! The staff was very helpful and friendly. The rooms were very, very clean. And the air conditioner worked! The only disappointment was the breakfast which was included in the price-- it was pretty bad -- packaged dry croissants and instant espresso. Entry was a bit scary because it didn't look like a traditional hotel -- but the staff met us at our taxi on the street and then it was fine.

“Comfortable stay”

Boncompagni suite is good value for your money. If you want to stay next to the sights, in a noisy crowded area, this is not for you. But if you want a pleasant stay in a peaceful area next to the atmosphere of classic Via Veneto, this is the place for your.

Our room was nice, soundproof, good size with an extra comfortable bed, tv, minibar, clean bathroom (toilet, shower, bidé), aircon with remote control... Breakfast is delivered to rooms every morning (fresh coffee or cappucino, orange juice, but don't expect too much on the prewrapped pastries - but I guess that's quite usual in Rome). And even though the rooms are well cleaned every day, don't be suprised if your towels or sheets are not changed during the stay.

The staff were nice enough, available from morning to night and you get your own keys to the building that face night time a quite street. It is a 5 minute walk from Via Veneto (5 star hotels, US Embassy..), few minutes to a department store, bus stops nearby, 10 minute walk to both Barberini and Repubblica metro stations, 20 minute walk to Termini (with luggage!), 15 minutes to Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. Also walkable distances to Pantheon, Colosseo and Vatican - but remember to wear good shoes. A bonus is Villa Borghese park quite close.
