“Convenient for Ciampino - and that's all”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 June 2011

We stayed here on the return leg of a trip to the Cilentan coast. We flew to & from Ciampino and stayed here for the last night before our flight home. It was cheap at £70 excl Rome City tax and convenient for the airport, but theyre the only redeeming features. The room was comfortable, but no better than that. The location is odd - a small shopping mall and an Ikea nearby but thats all. There was 1 local pizzeria about 10 mins walk away but it seemed a bit grotty so we opted for the only other option - a new place called Salotto Culinario which turned out to be fantastic. We were so impressed that I have reviewed it separately.
Walking back to the hotel, very well-fed and watered and looking forward to a good night's sleep, imagine our horror when we found some kind of boy racer rally in the car park. They were literally racing around the hotel and we had to run across the "track" to get to the lobby. There were hotdog stalls etc so it's clearly a regular, organised event. The roaring of boy racer exhausts and screeching tyres went on until after 2am so we were far from refreshed when we got up at 7 for breakfast, which was decidedly average.
The free shuttle bus took us to Ciampino, taking about 15 mins.
There is no way we would stay at this hotel again.

“Good Value but very noisy during weekend”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 May 2011

Our travel agency booked this hotel for our entire tour group, the hotel is relatively new ( renovated I believe because some room has updated modern bathroom layout while some have very old tiles and toilets).

The hotel is packed with group tourist so check-in can be hectic. We checked-in on a Friday night and there was only a lady working out there alone around 8:30pm.

The biggest problem is that the hotel is within a shopping mall complex, which is normally fine but on a Friday night, the parking lot turns into the illegal racing hotspot for all the pimped-out rides. We were first okay with it because the drivers and audiences were just doing their things without disturbing tourists.

However, because the air conditioning dont work in our room we had to open the window which means we heard the tire-screeching sound for whole night. Luckily police came and the crowd dispersed, however they came back until someone got into accident.

You can fulfill some shopping needs there, and there is a McDonald's around the corner open 24hrs.

Room Tip: Make sure air conditioning work !!!

“Difficult to find and nowhere to eat”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 May 2011

The hotel was difficult to find using public transport. The room was confortable and clean.
Unfortunately the airconditioning was not working. The staff did try to get it going. There is no restaurant in the hotel or nearby. We had to eat in the IKEA cafe it was the only option if you did not want to go into the city centre.
The worst aspect of our stay was the race track in the carpark outside racing cars at midnight and until 1.30 in the morning was unacceptable - we complained to the staff and they told us that the police had been called - the police did arrive but as soon as they left the racing and music started again. The race eventually broke up when there was a car crash - the police returned and at last we were able to get some sleep.
The airport shuttle bus was on time and efficient.

Room Tip: Request a room that is not at the front

“Close to the Airport”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2011

This is a pretty standard hotel, lacking any outstanding features.
It has 4 stars, but I would say this is an overestimation. The double room we had was large, with new furniture, comfy bed, good lighting, very nice sony tv. The bathroom however, was not amazing, satisfactory at most.
Staff was not extremely helpful, we were left in front of the desk with our luggage while our details were introduced into the computer. Moreover, nobody introduced us to our room and it took us a while to figure out how to turn on the lights. The place seemed understaffed, understandable given the low season.
The location is good if you have a car as it is very close to Rome's ring road and Ciampino airport. Apparently there is a shuttle service to the closest underground station. It is located in a shopping mall, closed on Sundays, apart from the McDonald's restaurant. The view from our window was on the local IKEA.
This was a bargain, however: 47 € for a double.

“Perfectly Adequate”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 April 2009

Spent two nights here on a business trip. Initial impressions were not favourable - arrived hungry at 20:00 on a Sunday only to discover there is no restaurant. The receptionist directed me to a restaurant just 5 mins walk away which was great, so a good save! The room was clean and well equipped but horribly warm. Seems that the central AC had not been turned on so I could only move the warm air around. Breakfast was reasonable.
This is primarily a business hotel. It is in the middle of a business district. There is a shopping arcade in the same block and a monster Ikea across the road. Central Rome is half an hour away by car. Room rate was 80€ per night
