My first experience with a European hotel and I was very pleased. It was clean, the staff friendly, and in a great location. 5 minutes walk from the metro and the same for the train to the airport. My travel was over the Thanksgiving holiday and I paid 74euro per night with breakfast included. There is wireless internet in the lobby and my room had Sky satellite TV. Don't forget to pick up your TV remote from the front desk. The only downside was that the beds were not very comfortable. The metro is right next door and I did know when the trains passed but it wasn't bothersome.

The hotel is in a very central position and very well connected to all the main sites.
It is also well connceted to Fiumicino Airport and all the train stations.
The service is very good and the receptionists are very friendly and helpful (btw, there is a proper reception area). WIFI is available for free.
The rooms are not big, but they are a standard size in Italy (you need sleep in the room, not have a party any way). They are clean and do not miss anything essential.
It is very good value for money.

we got stuck in southern Rome and had to find a hotel. our guidebook had no help on this area of the city. we literally walked around the metro for a couple of hours, everyone gave us bad directions until we finally asked the newspaper stand lady. (tabachi) . this place was a 3 star hotel in a bad part of town. lots of security inside. room was standard, fine. some towels were dirty. breakfast area very ugly and breakfast very skimpy. front desk very nice. it all worked out in the end, so if you have to stay south of the attractions, this would be okay.
(it's close to the station you need for visiting Ostia Antica).
