“Nice stay and good location”

Hotel H2000 is a very interesting option if you want to reach Fontana di Trevi and the center of Rome quickly. The clerk is a very pleasant Sir, who stays there almost every time and allows for some intimacy during the stay. You can also take some tips with him about transportation and visit hours of museums and archeological locations in Rome. The breakfast is brought to the room, since there is no kitchen and restaurant in the hotel; that is because it is not so great for whom is hungry soon after waking up. Actually it is a little hotel, which stays inside a building together with Quebec's office. In contrary to other reviews this year, we found the hotel very easily. The great tip to arrive to the hotel is to ask for the "Quattre Fontane", which are 50 m down from its entrance. The service is very efficient, the rooms are cleaned every day, and there is no reason for fearing about allergies (my wife is very atopic and suffers with carpets) because everything is very suitable for every kind of people. There is a free Wi-fi internet available, which is very good for people taking computers on the travel. Only in the last day, we asked for a taxi to go to the airport, and a driver (called by the hotel psersonnel) had set 50 euros to do the service, but asked for 60 euros after arriving to the airport. It is better to combine with some official taxi driver - Comuna di Rome. Finally, it is a good option for a good location and reasonable comfort in Rome.

“More than likely, you will be pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Beautiful.”

I felt compelled to write this review when I saw how mediocre the overall rating of this hotel is on Trip Advisor.

First of all, the location is fantastic. We spent a jam-packed four days sight-seeing in Rome and aside from a day-trip to the Vatican, we walked everywhere and saw all the sights. The street it is on is not too busy but has exactly the kind of charm you'd expect from a tourist trip to Rome. I felt very safe.

Secondly, the hotel itself is beautifully decorated and very cosy. We recently splurged on a five-star hotel in Melbourne, Australia, and if someone told me they had hired the same interior decorator I could have believed them. Fantastic bathrooms facilities as well.

Now a comment on service; we didn't really speak much to the man at reception, but it was comforting to know that the hotel was manned 24/7 and because it isn't a big hotel, there was a nice level of familiarity. We received breakfast each morning delivered to our room, consisting of coffee and croissants, which was perfectly satisfying. Mind you, in the five star hotel I booked in Melbourne breakfast wasn't even included at four times the price. I really think this hotel is GREAT value in comparison.

The only complaint I have is that it is clear that the building had been renovated to make two levels, as a consequence you either get the bottom half of a window, or the top half. If you like rooms with big windows or a view, then you might be disappointed. That aside, it did make the stay nice and quiet and very easy to get a good nights sleep. Plus, there's air conditioning, so that should compensate.

Someone else had booked this hotel for me at the time. Now that I know how much they paid, I feel that this hotel goes above and beyond any expectations you would have in relation to the price. I don't think you can go wrong booking here.

“Uncompromising”

Finding this hotel is very difficult. Location is not bad with good access to Barbarinni Square and the Metro. Owner charged us for having 3 people in the room when we had only 2. He spoke no English and was no help. Internet was broken if it was ever available as the registration indicated. We found an internet cafe about a half mile away.

“great location ,but hard to find”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2009

ideal location for sight seeing, metro, within walking distance for tourist attractions such as spanish steps, trevi fountain.
rooms were clean, tidy no issues with theft as reported in previous reviews (never seen them before our stay!). with a big tap also in the bathroom!
But trying to find the hotel for the 1st time is hard as no signage on the outside of the building except for a name on the secure entry system of the apartment block the hotel is situated in. the hotel is situated on the grd floor. if your arriving at the hotel from the barberine metro stop walk up Via del Quattro fontane on the left hand side and the hotel is just past the Barberine art gallery . approx a 5 min walk with cases. you could trek up and down the whole road looking for it. if you come to a cross roads after the Barberine art gallery you have gone too far. if your looking for it on street finder the apartment block has a dark green door.
Breakfast each morning was a lottery, it became funny trying to guess what variation of the set breakfast that would arrive. but what ever came tasted great. guess it just added to the holiday!
We had no issue with street noise during the rush hour or late night as the double/triple glazzing seems to do its job.
mini bar stocked with water, no price list though 2 euro a bottle, though small shop open across the road.
Staff were helpful and polite.
Hotel is good value for money considering the location and rome prices
Would go back and stay agan.
The area itself is safe and clean.
The tour bus stop is also beside the barberine metro in the sq. various bars and resturants nearby also from local types to the hard rock cafe with some open to 2am

We found a great little place for food/drinks a couple of mintues from the hotel, on Via Resalla, 3/4 the way down the hill on the left the bar/restarant Albrecht. good value set menu , 3 course for 15 euros, service is brilliant by rome standards also!. They have the local football on the tv in the back, football, beer, pizza great chill out time. plenty of locals also seem to eat here as well. again if looking for it on street finder the place has been cleaned up since the view was taken.

“AWFUL”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 July 2009

Thank god my husband and I only planned on staying here one night prior to the end of our trip. The hotel is not clearly marked and spans the space of one hallway. There is one old man (out of a creepy movie) who works at the front desk and never leaves. He barely speaks English and tried to rip us off at the end of the trip when we asked for him to arrange a TAXI for us to get to the airport in the morning. In the morning a carservice came in to take our belonging and my husband watched the old man behind the desk and the car service driver exchange money. We obviously refused to drive in this car and the the driver cursed us out and went back inside in a huff.

The hotel itself is tiny and dirty. Our comforter had holes in it and was dirty and the hotel reeked of cigarette smoke. The shower in the bathroom did not drain and the water subsequently went over onto the floor of the bathroom. The hotel looks out onto a parking lot. We did not eat the in house breakfast provided because we were concerned about the quality of the food and getting sick.

The hotel indicates that it is near the spanish steps and the trevi fountain, however, it must be noted that you have to walk up a fairly big hill at the end of the day (which may be difficult after a day of sightseeing). I would have preferred to stay closer than a 15 minute walk away from everything.

DO NOT STAY HERE.
