“Great location but minute single rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2011

Stayed here one night on business. I suppose its ok if one just needs a bed to sleep. Didn't find it particularly "quaint", in fact the entrance looks dismal and you think you enter some government building. Single rooms are tiny, in fact minute, and nothing more than luxury store cupboards. Bed was comfortable, a/c didn't work, hit water didn't work. Bathroom equally tiny but clean and quite ok, no bath products apart from a tiny bar of soap. Minimal contains a bottle of water. View from room into a dismal backstreet. TV has hundreds of channels n virtually all Italian and the few English are scrambled. I don't want to sound too negative - the old receptionist was lovely (only person I saw in the hotel), but for that price I would have expected a little more - even in expensive Rome. Hotel 10 minutes from Fontana Di Trevi, Palo Barberini is next door, 15 minutes to Guard Vented, Villa Borghese and gardens, and 15 min from Stationed Termini Railway Station. All right in the heart of Rome. City tours start at Piazza Barberini 2 min from the hotel. Loads of restaurants, cafes, bars. Based on the single room experience I would recommend this for the budget business guy or individual tourist which just needs a bed to sleep - unless the double rooms are anything close to the official photos, go somewhere else for a romantic holiday.

“Great location, get what you pay for, would stay again front desk very nice and helpful.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 October 2011

First time to Rome. Location is great for walking to everything. Not well marked just look for green door with call box, you'll be fine. Friendly staff, clean but small room, quiet, would stay here again. Did not find a better hotel when searching in this area once we got here, for a better price or cleanliness or service.

“Quaint and cute”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2011

We stayed at the H 2000 Roma in September 2011. The family run staff was very accomodating and made us feel right at home. It was a bit hard to find (no signage outside), but we loved the small, quaint feel. The rooms were clean and comforatable. The location was great and we were within walking distance from everything. We were about 5-10 minutes from Trevi Fountain and loved walking by it everyday. The breakfast was yummy - my husband loved the jelly filled croissants! We also could use the free Wi-Fi which was a nice perk. Many of our other European hotels didn't offer it for free. We reserved 4 rooms (we were traveling with 3 other couples) and I would recommend this hotel to anybody. We had a great time!

“Hmm... good location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2011

To begin with, this hotel is a few blocks from Termini. We decided to walk from the station to the hotel thinking it wasn't going to be that bad. Well.... the hotel has no sign whatsoever signaling where it is, or could be. Just search for a huge green door after you pass the four fountains. The room and bathroom were clean. The breakfast was also good. It had a great location for our travel purposes (tourism). Our shower was a bit clogged.... but oh well! things happen... :)

“Great little hotel close to Rome attractions.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 August 2011

Nice little family-run hotel located up a steep street near Barberini Plaza.
There is no sign for the hotel, just a big green door and a call box to its right that you have to access in order to be let in. We had no trouble finding the hotel. It's a great location. If you continue up the hill you can walk to Santa Maria Maggiore; across Barberini you find the Spanish Steps; around the corner from Barberini you go up to Galleria Borghese. Plus, you're near the metro if you don't want to walk all the way to St. Peter's.
The street is called 4 Fountains because at the top of the hill there are, well, four pretty fountains.
The room was a decent size for being a small hotel; the bathroom was great, a huge bathtub, excellent water pressure, and enough space to put your belongings. The bed was firm, as usual for European hotels, and there was a giant wardrobe and plenty of space to throw your bags and maps and things. Air-con worked great, which we needed during the evening.
The breakfast was sad, but after eating such huge meals and gelato during the day, we didn't really care. The coffee was instant coffee.
Rome is super-expensive for us Americans; plus you have to pay a tax in cash when you depart.
In short, great little hotel. I'd come back.
Pros-
*great location. The street is quiet at night, and I wouldn't want to stay right near a tourist attraction for fear of freaks and noise. Some other Roman hotels are too close to fountains and piazzas, so you'd get lots of thru traffic. Here you're still close but a bit away from the hustle and bustle.
*friendly owner
*giant bathroom and great shower/bath, good water pressure
*I felt very safe here; I'd recommend taking your passport and electronics with you.

Cons-
*the hill is steep (I don't mind at all because I like to burn calories when I'm eating such rich food)
*the breakfast (who cares though.. see above)
