“Rooms are Tiny”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 August 2010

As we were with a tour company, we knew we'd have to take what we got, but what we got was not very exciting. Our room was extremely small. Once the 2 suitcases were down, there was hardly any space to walk! The air con was not working and front desk said there was nothing they could do. We had to sleep with the windows open as it was stuffy. The windows were quite large and I was worried about burglary. There are these strange metal shutters on the windows which we needed help opening. Incase you do too; there’s a long rope behind the curtains, pull them like you would vertical blinds. There are not too many near by restaurants, but we only stayed one night on 2 occasions and so went to the same 2 restaurants. A Chinese and a very nice family type pizzeria called Bartolomeo. The folks at Bartolomeo were excellent and so was the food. The even remembered us when we returned 3 weeks later. To get to these restaurants you take a right outside the hotel, then a left and continue pass the cross road lights. Bartolomeo is on the right hand of the street and the Chinese is further up on the left.
Breakfast was nothing to speak of, except the breakfast room is very small and with a large tour like ours, it was a bit uncomfortable.
There is a desktop computer that connects to the internet at 5 Euro for an hour. Unfortunately, you have to use the entire hour in one session. So if you just need to check emails quickly for 15 mins, unless it’s important, I wouldn’t bother.
I wouldn’t recommend this hotel unfortunately. If you have to stay there, I hope it’s only for one night.

“Off the beaten track”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 July 2010

The hotel is completely off the beaten track but with good public transport connections (buses) to the central train station. A taxi to/from the airport (Fiumicino) takes over an hour, if there is no traffic. I had a meeting nearby, so the location was perfect for me.

The room was clean and adequately decorated for the hotel class. At the front desk I bought a voucher for 1 hour of WiFi access but when I tried to connect in my room, the connection speed was too slow to download even smallest emails. I complained and got a refund without any hassle.

The breakfast was a bit of strange experience – I walked into a small, crowded breakfast room where only coffee, rolls, butter, and jelly were on offer. I was somewhat disappointed but soon discovered that I was in the breakfast room for groups! In the adjacent room, behind a frosted glass door, a very decent breakfast was on offer to individual guests. I moved there and once a server verified that I was in fact an individual guest I was able to enjoy a nice continental breakfast.

“No hot water, poor quality food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2010

One small lift, hot water service continually breaks down, poor customer service from staff, dining room crowded, got to be there early to get in quick and find a seat and then get food otherwise you miss out.
Only good thing is it's not far from transport to centre and the Hotel Business cards have map and list of buses that pass by. Buy some quick snacks before you get there from Venice (if on Cosmos tour) have these for breakfast, and get out of hotel as quick as possible. Tours end up here on Saturday, just remeber rest of area doesn't come awake on Sunday till after 10.30am.

“Forget about the lifts”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 December 2009

We stayed at this hotel as part of a Cosmos Tour. The rooms were clean, about the same size as most european hotels.
Don't bother using the lifts. We walked up the stairs to the 3rd floor at the same time our friends got in the lift to go to the second floor. We walked to the 2nd floor and waited at least a minute for the lift to arrive. There is only 1 lift and only about 4 people fit in, so the poor porter had a terrible time with all the bags.
The breakfast was nice, but the breakfast room was SO SO small. Cost approx 9 euros in a taxi to get from the centre of Rome to the hotel so not too bad distance wise from Rome, but the area it is in is a bit seedy.
The hotel has wifi, but you can't access it from your room so have to sit in the hotel lobby. Service in the bar, there was a guy who turned up occasionally, who couldn't speak much english and served me a glass of wine in a water glass....

“Great room, awful breakfast service.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 June 2009

Buenos Aires Hotel had a pretty good room and bathroom. Elevator took some time, so if you're on the first and second floors I recommend the stairs (unless of course you're carrying luggage).

But the hotel has no restaurant facilities. Breakfast was part of our tour package,so the hotel served it,but it was a terrible experience. The place was cramped, food was all cold (inlcuding the eggs), and if you weren't in the first batch, you would have to wait a good 20 minutes for the food to get refilled. Oh,and if you're a tea drinker? Forget it. They don't serve tea.
