“Definitely not 4 star or close to the centre of Rome!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

Booked through Groupon under the premise that this was a 4 star hotel in Rome and we were getting a good deal. Unfortunately it was not near the centre of Rome and the hotel was struggling to be 2 star let alone 4! It is a good 20 minute metro ride and then a 20 minute walk down back allies with stray cats, dog mess and interesting locals until you make it to the hotel. From the outside it looks awful but actually the ground floor isn't shocking and the rooms are pretty clean. As we were there to enjoy ourselves we treated it as a place to sleep and nothing more.
They have a pool but it's outside and not covered at all in the winter so was full of leaves when we went! Overall we had a good trip but the hotel was definitely not a plus point.

Room Tip: We were on the 6th floor which appeared to be the only one with any guests so with thin walls any no...

“Run down, and way too far from anything!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

Don't go to this hotel, Totally out of the way, have to get the hotel bus which doesn't go very often and finishes early or a taxi if you get one, we got the normal bus and ended up getting very lost!! eventually finding a taxi,
Rooms are in bits mirrors cracked, bath leaking , shutter would only open up half way, bed was comfy though, room was old, smelly and dirty, tv was the rubbish, there coffee was fantastic but breakfast was basically cheese, ham, cereal and sweet breads, staff were rude bar one woman who basically ran the pool bar, (which is outside the hotel), restaurant and the other "bar" at one stage serving drinks in the "bar" which was basically non existent (as she was the only one who could make cocktails even though they had a cocktail menu) with an apron on and food all over it and at one stage when she was too busy they told us we could only buy beer cause they couldn't make drinks and they closed it at 10.00 (even though it said 11 in the booklet), and when we complained to the manager he just shrugged and said it was up to the barman, and went i pointed all these issues out to him, he basically told me that they shouldn't be 4 star, and apologised, but said they were out of his hands, they were obviously understaffed and it looked to me like the hotel was just being left to rot. its not worth saving a few bob if you take into account the taxi cost etc, its worth paying that little bit more to be close to the city.

“mosquitos galore! insane hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2011

Hotel is too far away from the city. Bad location have to pay a lot of euros for the shuttle or the metro bus. Staff is great especially Andrea and Elvira. God sent them us to make our stay pleasant! I was biten by mosquitos almost every night. The lobby is nice, but the rooms needs revamped. Rooms look old and run down. Carpet stinks and our key was inoperable almost daily had to go to the front desk to make it work. Breakfast was not free. Ate it once / not good. If anyone looking for cheap hotel, just pay for quality instead of quantity. Hotel needs to btar e closed! not 4 star ..how about 2 star.

Room Tip: Don't go to this hotel!

“Ok hotel, would not stay here again though”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2011

They should not have a 4 star title. The lobby was pretty but the rest of the hotel was really run down. Our rooms werent bad, the only problem was there are no screens on the windows and it was hot. So we couldnt open the windows because of the horrible mosquitos, it did have air conditioning though. But the weather was gorgeous out, bummer. The American breakfast was really yummy. Dinner not so much and pretty pricey. We used the hotel bus to get downtown and a taxi back. The bus runs 3 Euro and the taxi (from the train station) was 12. Not too bad at all. There is nothing close to the area at all. But if you are looking for a cheap place to stay this is it. Just be prepared to use a lot of public transportation.
