I want to give this hotel 5 stars, but there are some things that they really need to address before I would recommend this hotel, or stay there again.
- The bed is hard as a rock. By FAR the hardest bed I've ever slept in, it honestly was like sleeping on a carpeted floor. The two pillows were not any better. I honestly think the comfort of the bed is THE most important thing in a hotel, so...maybe it's time to replace the mattresses and make the rooms comfy?
- The bedding coverlet and blanket really need to be replaced. They look and feel like they are 100% polyester from the 1970's. This would be so easy to update and would make such a difference in the comfort of the room! (The sheets were crisp white cotton, so that was great)
- The shower had a folding screen contraption instead of a shower curtain. Every day I would wrestle it into place, and every time I got out of the shower there was a huge puddle on the floor. I noticed that the ceiling had large watermarks from the room above, so I'm obviously not the first person to have this problem with the shower screen. Get shower curtains!
On the plus side, every person who works here is beyond helpful and extremely kind. The location is fantastic, the hotel building is gorgeous, and there was very little noise from the outside. I think the loudest thing I heard were the birds in the morning! Also, GREAT breakfast and fantastic coffee. Would love to stay here again....but I'll wait until they get the beds updated.
