“Good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

We stayed here in August. The room was very clean but could use a little updating. The air conditioning did not work well. We turned it up as high as possible and had the staff check it as the room was never cool enough. At times it was just plain uncomfortable. I generally am the person shutting off the air conditioning as I do not like it real cold. However, we never shut it off. The bathrooms are updated and clean. The breakfast is ample. The location cannot be beat. The hotel is easy walking to all the major sites. I would stay here but not in the summer.

“Amazing!”

My friend and I took holiday here for a stay of four days - absolutely amazing! Not only was the location perfect, but the staff made the stay easy and were always pleasant/helpful. The breakfast was great and had something for everyone. The room was very nice and had a small fridge and a remodeled bathroom. The only negative that we both agreed on were the beds, they were too hard for our comfort. I will definitely recommend them to all of my friends, family and co-workers!

“The perfect location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2011

This is a great base for a visit to Rome. It's a townhouse on about 5 levels with just a couple of rooms on each floor. There's no lift, so be prepared. The staff are so warm although we knew what we wanted to do each day so didn't need to quiz them too much. We used the optional limousine service from the airport which was well worth the money, not least because the hotel is hard to find. Our room was fine, not particularly luxurious but bathroom was good and there was a fridge with complimentary drinks. A nice terrace with views over the rooftops too. On the downside, wardrobe space was limited and it would have been nice to have more clothes hangers. There's a good breakfast buffet each morning.

The hotel and the overall area oozes character and you can walk EVERYWHERE - the Vatican is no more than 15 minutes' away. Plenty of eating places too. Piazza Navona is 2 minutes' walk away. I definitely recommend this place!

We were in Rome for 5 nights in October. Because this was our first visit to Rome we knew we would want to see the major sites and have easy access to them by foot.
This property is just off the Coronari which is a narrow ,charming street with numerous antiques shops and other small businesses. It's close proximity (minutes by foot) to the Piazza Navona is priceless, as the activities there at night are festive and eateries galore.
We had a roof top room with a patio at the Residenza which was perfect for my husband and I though the climb up several flights of stairs is a necessity since there is not an elevator. This was not a problem.
Everybody there were very friendly and helpful, readily ssisting us with maps, etc. The breakfast was always a treat as their expresso and capuccino are excellent.
I should note there is a small supermarket on Coronari with a good deli and bakery goods making gathering of quick snacks very easy and pleasant.
This was an excellent choice for us and felt very fortunate to have found it.

Room Tip: No elevators , narrow staircase to top rooms

“Amazing location, great service...needs updating badly!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2011

I want to give this hotel 5 stars, but there are some things that they really need to address before I would recommend this hotel, or stay there again.

- The bed is hard as a rock. By FAR the hardest bed I've ever slept in, it honestly was like sleeping on a carpeted floor. The two pillows were not any better. I honestly think the comfort of the bed is THE most important thing in a hotel, so...maybe it's time to replace the mattresses and make the rooms comfy?

- The bedding coverlet and blanket really need to be replaced. They look and feel like they are 100% polyester from the 1970's. This would be so easy to update and would make such a difference in the comfort of the room! (The sheets were crisp white cotton, so that was great)

- The shower had a folding screen contraption instead of a shower curtain. Every day I would wrestle it into place, and every time I got out of the shower there was a huge puddle on the floor. I noticed that the ceiling had large watermarks from the room above, so I'm obviously not the first person to have this problem with the shower screen. Get shower curtains!

On the plus side, every person who works here is beyond helpful and extremely kind. The location is fantastic, the hotel building is gorgeous, and there was very little noise from the outside. I think the loudest thing I heard were the birds in the morning! Also, GREAT breakfast and fantastic coffee. Would love to stay here again....but I'll wait until they get the beds updated.
