“Do not let them spoil your holidays-Do not book at St. Moritz Hotel !”

We were very pleased to get to Rome and the first thing we did was to check in at the hotel. It was too early, 10 am, so we left our luggage at the reception. When we returned from the city at 14 h, we found out that our luggage had been neglected while we had been away. But given that nothing strange happened, nothing had been taken from our luggage, we did not give it more importance. We had booked a double room five months before and what we found at the check-in was a corridor converted into a bedroom with twin beds, one at each side of the room. It was necessary to cross the dining room in order to get there. We were told that there were no more rooms available. We complained by showing our reservation confirming a double room. After threatening to call the police, we were shown another room behind the reception desk, which was very different to what show the photographs on the website of the hotel. We spend the whole afternoon to see if they could cancel reservation and we went to another hotel. We should mention that the treatment we received from the lady Shirpa was outrageous, if not miserable. The price they charge does not correspond to the standards expected. For the price of a 3* hotel you find standard of a 1* hotel. Please, we recommend the place to be called B&B St. Moritz, to avoid any misunderstanding and unpleasant moments for the travellers.

“Great location - but service & cleanliness lacking”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 May 2010

While the location of the hotel was fantastic (walking distance to most notable sites, close to Termini station), travellers looking for clean bathrooms and/or pleasant staff would be well advised to steer clear of the St. Moritz. The gentleman at the front desk was unhelpful to the point of being openly hostile (the eye rolling and muttering under his breath whenever a question was asked could not be ignored). The evening front desk staff was far more pleasant, as were the breakfast staff. Best to steer clear of this property due to the poor service and rampant mold/mildew coating the bathrooms. There are equally reasonable hotels in the area which provide better service.

“Not a Hotel, a B&B. Dont believe the Photos or the fake good reviews”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 May 2010

DO NOT STAY AT THE ST MORITZ!! Do not believe the photos they show,,, they are 40-50 years old, at least. It not a hotel. It is a B & B. Some of the rooms have no toilet. You must use the community toilet at the end of the hall.It is NOT 3 stars. It has no services, no bellman. Its rooms are dirty, no hot water after 7:30am. The manager is nasty if you ask for something. If you complain you get a tirade of insults in Italian. (Which I understood because I told him I speak Italian,, it didnt matter to him.) You must carry your luggage up 3 flights of dimly lit stairs. We reserved 7 nights in Rome and choose this hotel because of the 120 price and terminal location on a main street. We could only stand it for 3 nights. My wife had an asthma attack. Probably because of the dusty , moldy walls. That are covered with some type padded fabric that was popular 50-60 years ago. covered with dust fuzzies, A bad place to stay, however The cold self service breakfast served in their little kitchen was pleasant attended by 2 nice ladies who made coffee. NO fresh fruit, no boiled egg just cereal and rolls. For 20 euro more right around the corner we found a wonderful place On via Palermo, The Hotel Virgilio saved our vacation. Stay there instead if you want to be close to the metro and train station. Its also a pick up point for most of the tour bus companies.(thats how we found it)

“Good Value for Money”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2009

I recently stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. We paid the equivalent of £30 per night. For the money it is excellent value. The rooms are clean and the breakfast is adequate, if not particularly enthralling. The staff were professional and efficient and the location very convenient. If you're looking for luxury, this is not the place for you though - on the down side, the building is old, so the plumbing was a little dodgy with intermittent hot water in the shower and slightly dodgy looking plug sockets. Also, we were in a room on the front of the building over looking Via Nationale, so the noise from traffic is huge and unrelenting (ear plugs are a must!). Definitely request a room on the back if this sort of thing bothers you. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a cheap, clean, safe and convenient base from which to explore Rome. If you want a few luxuries, then go elsewhere.

“Good stay!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2009

Stayed on the main floor down the hall from the front desk. It was very quiet, and the room was decent. Large bed, wood floors, good closet w/drawers for clothing. Bathroom was very small, but acceptable. The staff was very nice and helpful. Had to go down to the front desk to hook into the internet, but not a problem, got to visit with the night shift worker, I believe his name was Ansi or Ansil. He was very nice, and even sat down and visited with me for a little while. He spoke way better English than I did Italian. The morning breakfast was basic continetal style with crouissant, cereal, pastry, capaccino. The service was very good. They made you feel like they really cared that everything was good. I would definately recommend staying here. This is a really good location for the price!! I wouldn't hesitate to book here again next time!!!!!
