“Worst Night Ever!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

The Ragonellli Hotel description was a total lie! Four stars??? It was a freezing room--the airport shuttle they advertised was 50 Euros (each way!), they did NOT give a complimentary breakfast (as advertised), the staff was rude, the room smelled of smoke, wifi was too expensive to access--in NO WAY was it near a historic district---even the public transportation directions they gave were wrong!

Room Tip: Don't choose this hotel!

“good value for money”

some friends of us suggested this hotel in Rome, a four star hotel on the via Aurelia, not far from the Vatican city. we (four adults)booked a family room, and arrived by car at this hotel. best location for people traveling by car. we parked it at the private hotel parking place and went to the center by public bus. the room was clean, and spacious for 4 persons. the staff helped us to visit the best place of the city Rome and gave us good suggestion for bars and restaurants. all was to our satisfaction and will suggest this four star hotel to our friends.
not to forget is the wellness and fitness area , circa 2000 square mt. , just beside the hotel which is free of charge for the hotel clients.

“Hotel Ok too far out”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2011

We stayed at the Raganelli for 3 nights and our main memory of the stay was the travelling into and out of Rome.
The room needed refurbishing e.g. wall lights broken, bathroom tiles replaced with different patterned ones, doors damaged and repaired badly etc., but were clean and after a full day in Rome sleep was not a problem. The rest of the Hotel was clean and tidy and there was always a member of staff in Reception, who were very pleasant, efficient and friendly.
There are a couple of bars and some restaurants close by where we paid 8 euro for pizza and 9 euro for a bottle of Frascati and the area feels safe to walk in.
Across the road was the bus stop where you could board a bus to the nearest Metro station (Cornelia) or to the Vatican bus station (about 10 minutes walk to the Vatican museum via a long flight of steps).
As at 2011 you could buy a ticket for 3 days which allowed all travel on buses,Metro and trains within Rome for 11 euros or you could get a ticket including all these plus trams and 3 days on the Roma Christiana open top bus for 25 euros. Just remember the Roma Christiana bus runs to 7pm and the Metro stops running at 9pm. After 9pm there is a bus, the MA1, which visits each Metro station and takes about 45 minutes from Termini to Cornelia where you take a bus to Raganelli. (Some of these bus stops may be difficult to find - the stop at Termini for the MA1 is not at the bus station but opposite Macdonalds in the via Giovanni Giolitti and the stop at Cornelia is on the Circonvallazione Cornelia.
Having said this there were plenty of tourists staying in this area so not everyone thought it was too far.

“Great staff and service, inconvenient location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 December 2011

The best aspect of this hotel was the wonderful staff. They were extremely helpful, courteous, and efficient.

The rooms of the hotel were not bad (I was in two different "upgraded" rooms). The wireless internet was not working very well in the first room that I was booked into, so they moved me to another room with much better Internet signal. The Internet was fast and worked quite well. Bathroom was clean and everything worked. The room was basic, but clean and pretty spacious.

The problem with this hotel is the location: it is in a suburb quite far from the center of Rome. There is a metro line, but it is a 15-20 minute walk from the hotel... quite inconvenient to get to. Also, the Metro (at the time) only ran until 9pm on most nights, so I found myself taking a lot of taxis back to the hotel (~ 15-20 euros from/to the Center).

To first time visitors of Rome, I would recommend choosing a hotel with a more central location, although this hotel was a good value for the low price.

“Better than expected”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2011

We stayed in this hotel for a long weekend and after reading the reviews were pleasantly surprised. We were lucky enough to get one of the new rooms and the room as well as the bathroom were both clean. The biggest problem was the noise of the passing cars coming from the street but with earplugs were able to sleep well. The staff of the hotel were all very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is located a bit too far from the city although the metro station is walking distance away and there is also a bus passing the hotel which takes you to the metro station. Breakfast was modest, I guess typical mediterranean breakfast.
