“A reasonable compromise”

The place is quite small, and for the first night we had a top-level room (No. 5) just under the roof - we had to watch ourselves to avoid bonking our heads against the ceiling. The douche and WC was next to the room. For the next night we got another room (No. 2) which was both more spacious and had everything inside.
Pizza in the restaurant next door was the best.

“Nice private location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 May 2011

Me and wife drove by car there and stayed three nights to visit Rome. Rome weather is excellent in May - don't know why July and August are top tourist season. We were the only guests and had a room on the third floor below the sloping roof. The marble slab stairs and stone tile hallways were impressive. We had a good sized room, large comfortable double bed, some kitchen facilities and shared bath. The satellite TV had 100+ Italian channels. The owners were friendly. The lady spoke a few words English but the husband was a little better with it.

In the third floor beedroom, watch the sloping ceiling. You are guaranteed to bump your head at least a dozen times. The internet signal on third floor was weak and I occasionally went down one floor in the hall way for better signal. Placing the router with antenna on the second floor instead of first would probably fix it. Car parking is on the street and not on the premises. But there was no problem finding street parking. Make sure you run the bath hot side tap for a few minutes for hot water to get up to the third floor. They only take cash payment and no credit cards. You can pay anytime during your stay.

There is a bus that stops near the place to take you to metro and you should eventually wind up at the main Termini metro station.

If you drive there, don't try to drive to the Vatican. Rome driving is really crowded and discouraging. The B&B owner suggested I drive the car to Cipro metro station and park the car there. Big mistake. After enduring the super congested traffic, there wasn't a spot of parking on this "commercial" parking lot. Cars were parked on every inch of space that you can imagine - including sidewalks and whatever. I never saw police give parking tickets in Rome. It's just a necessary way of life there.

The best bet is to drive your car to the Rome Aurelia (FR5) train station then enter the bus parking lot and find a parking spot on the back of the lot, on the sidewalk or wherever - like everybody else does. Trains go to the main Termino station every half hour - but sometimes are late or canceled. The GPS coordinates that should get you to the station "parking" are N 41.88362, E 12.39457

If you board the FRx trains they serve the greater Rome metro area where metro trains do not. But there was no way to buy tickets at the Aurelia station or the train nor did anyone come to check. We rode down to the main Termino station and then bought a 3 day tourist pass (11 Euro) at a "Tabbacha" shop (news stand).
