“very good value for money lovley friendly and clean”

we stayed at hotel midi, well atually the adjoining hotel giolitti, next door, but you have to check in and have breakfast at the hotel midi, the staff were very helpful and friendly and made are stay very welcome,
dont let the hotel put you off when you first see it , as we did, but when we got to are room it was beautiful, everything was new, and very clean, a lovley bathroom with a power shower, hair dryer mirror, etc, the beds were very comfy, with a mini bar (very good) that was always fully stocked every day, and a flat screen telly on are wall, and a balcony over looking gardens with shutters that let a lovely breeze in ,we didnt expect this for a two star hotel, it was great definately value for money, the noise in rome is loud at night and it is where ever you stay in rome, so after many years of going there the best trick is to take boots travel ear plugs you will never hear a thing
breakfast was next door and it had every thing you would want for breakfast to set you up for the day a head, all different friut juices, different jams for toast, cereal, yogurts, italian goodies, friut, ham and cheese, with lovely bread. all help your self as much as you want. location is central but a fair walk to all the attractions, but there are lots of taxis , and the station is very close buy, so we didnt find it a problem, half the fun is walking round discovering things. so all in all it was a very nice stay, and i would definately recomend it,

“Perfect bargain break”

We stayed for 5 nights at the midi hotel and found it suited our needs perfectly. Not wanting to spend a fortune on accomodation we found the hotel clean, friendly and very secure. We had a room at the back which overlooked the gardens and was very pretty. The room was basic and bijoux but clean and well maintained. The air conditioning wasn't working but in february that wasn't a problem for us - although in the summer it would be a different story. Breakfast is worth skipping but at these room prices were not even expecting breakfast!
Tips! The local, family run restaurant Taverna Anna (Something like that) which is very close by is definitely worth a visit.
Other than that though the area is rather lacking bars /restaurants but close enough to the Termini & Metro to go elsewhere.

“Rome weekend getaway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2007

Stayed here for 4 nights in September for b/f birthday. After reading reviews on here, did not know what to expect but was very pleasantly surprised! The check in was easy. Room was great if a bit little but how much room do you need? Great shower, lovely staff. We did not ever wake up early enough for the brekkie but it looked substantial - cereals, toast, juice, coffee etc.
The location was fine - need to take a bus or metro into the centre of Rome(good thing about being near to Termini was that buses ran thru the night so no need to pay for cabs late into the night) but the journeys were only about 20 mins max so no hardship whatsoever.
Cab to and from airport was €60 each way - you can organise a coach shuttle from nr the termini for about €9 but we had a fairly early flight home and a cab was easier.
Venture into Trastavere for great food / drinks. Do take the walking tours of the Colosseo and ancient forums.

“Good value at the midi”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2006

I booked a single at the Midi Hotel through Lastminute, at €50/night, and I have to say it was a very decent accomodation and extremely good value too.

The room on the first floor looking the nice roman patio value was clean, and the attention of reception was correct.
The breakfast was nice too although the coffee was instant.

On the possible negative sides:
- a previous review stated that they had an issue with water leaking from the last floor that they are building on top of the building. Well they don't seem to have completed the works, so that might be a cause of trouble

- to enter the hotel you need to ring a bell and the receptionist will open the door from their desk. On my first night a guest was ringing that bell at least for half an hour before someone appeared.

- the reception staff changed many times throughout my stay, at least four or five different people attended me during my three night stay, which seems far too many for a 10 room hotel.

- the hotel next door "Hotel Center" seems to share the reception with the Midi, in fact their customers plus other Hotel's customers on the other side of the patio had breakfast at the Midi, all comunicatiing through the Patio. Although it didn't mean anything wrong to me, I think It poses some security issues.
