“A few Steps from All the Action!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

The hotel was clean and the beds were comfortable. The air conditioning came in handy and the flat screen tv had great reception. We stayed in the family suite and was never bothered. It was very quiet, in fact we were probably the loudest on the floor. The maid came in to change the towels everyday, even though she was rude. There were no other accommodations other than the tv, air conditioning unit, telephone, and a safe. We had a view to the street front and it was so nice to see Rome lit up at night. Pretty romantic!

I think the price was not worth the accommodations but it was the cheapest we could find. It was right around the block from the main Terminal to catch the train. So much to see in so little time!

“Good hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2011

Good hotel for travellers that need a hotel just for sleep and prefer to use their time for sightseeing, shopping or meals outside.Next to Termini station from where connections to the city center or Fiumichino airport are very easy.Breakfast is included in the price and could take it in the Caffeteria near by.The hotel is worth for money in Roma.

“NOT RECOMMENDED”

We booked in to stay at Hotel Soggiorno Blu, on via Magenta, prior to leaving Australia and thus prior to seeing the room. We arrived at Hotel Soggiorno Blu, and it goes pretty much like the other reviews.
1) We were asked to pay upon arrival without seeing the room
2) We were moved to anotehr Hotel just round the corner, being Hotel Rubino
3) We were placed in a room right beside reception
4) The bathroom was small, and very unclean with mould all over the tiles of the shower. All I had to do was hold the shower to the mould and it came away, so i'm unsure why it hadn't been cleaned.
5) Our 'ensuite' bathroom had a shower and sink only - no toilet! We had to use our own toilet down the hallway = not happy.

As per the other reviews, breakfast, which consisted only of a pastry and coffee (both of which were very tasty though :) was held at the cafe across the road. The sheets were clean in the room, and it did have a TV and safe as advertised.

Dodgy dodgy establishment, not recommended to stay at any of the hotels owned by the management who runs Hotel Soggiorno Blue/Hotel Rubino.

“NEVER EVER BOOK a ROOM in this DUMP!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2010

The Worst Hotel I have stayed at in my whole life! All of the things that happened in all the other Negative reviews also happened to us! Made us move to Rubinos Hotel which is also a DUMP! Dirty with mold all over the bathroom and I am talking about both Hotels. I wish I had of read all of these other reviews here before booking! They made us move the first night to Rubinos after we took all our bags up the tiny elevator in 3 trips then back down in the rain to walk a block to Rubinos and another 3 trips up that elevator. I complained all the way to no avail. The next day I went and told them to put us in Blu because that was what we booked and they said the manager would be at Planet so had to go there. Was told that they would try to fix it by the maid as manager was not around. Come back in 30 minutes went back and said ok you can move back but then the manager wanted to be apologetic but I said that was bait and switch and I had not even seen the inside of the Blu rooms which I thought would be better---oops I was wrong. He was very rude and did not want to listen to my complaints instead got in a huff and walked away! I did not even get to the part about the MOLD on the bathroom walls which affected my daughters breathing in the night. She slept with the bathroom door shut and no one took a shower because Rubinos was terrible! The Blu rooms were a little better but still NO 2 star maybe 0 star and that is a stretch. Well I could keep complaining but I feel I have said enough so you know to NEVER EVER STAY in this DUMP or you will be SORRY and Unhappy with your trip to Rome. The only reason we disliked Rome was all because of this Hotel. The trip to Florence then Venice and back was fantastic but Rome Sucked all because I book rooms at the S. Blu. Also do not stay in Planet or Rubinos because they are owned by the same people!

“far from the city center, but good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 June 2010

This hotel was great compared to average italian hotels. Breakfast was included which let us start the day with a good breakfast without having to pay a lot in any of the city center cafes.
