“Excellent, Romantic Hotel in Rome”

Very nice little hotel near to Roma Termini (10-15 min walk). The pictures on the hotel`s cite are real - everything is just like this. Our room was little but very charming with lovely little balcony surrounded by flowers (you can see on my picture). In the bathroom there is a bath tube, very good water pressure, bathroom kit. The room is quiet and sunny with very nice fan, that gives an impression of old romantic italian movie. There is a vintage lift - the hotel is situated on the 3th floor of an old, but clean and nice building. From Roma Termini you can catch the both lines of the Metro as well a lots of buses. Near to the hotel there is a bus stop too. Nomber 60 Express is the best way to reach the center in 10 minutes. The bus runs in every 5 min.

Room Tip: every room i saw was good

“A great find for the price”

My wife and I spent our last three nights in Italy at this hotel. Only hotel we stayed at that had a working elevator. The rooms were extremely small, but clean enough with comfortable beds. The staff was helpful and hospitable, and even gave us a bottle of wine to celebrate our honeymoon. The brekfast was average, but more than sufficed for a good start to the day. The hotel decor was very nice and our m came with a balcony. I will say that the location is bit off, as it is not very close to the tourist attractions - metro is not too far though. It was the least expensive place that we stayed during our two week trip, and it exceeded our expectations. Definetly worth the price. If you are just looking for a nice, clean place to for a home base to explore Rome from, this is a great choice.

“Great Little Hotel”

We loved our stay at the Lilium. The staff Julia was soo nice, she went all the way to help with extending our stay and is just such a sweetheart.

The rooms were wonderfully cosy and comfy. Julia upgraded us to a room with the covered balcony and even hubby loved it! We felt that it gave a difference to all the hotels we have been staying in. The shower was great and everything was well kept and cleaned.

The lady at the breakfast room (we didn't get her name as she did not speak english at all) she deserves a thumbs up for the great coffee and breakfast she prepared everyday! I know that she feels passionately for her job as we can just taste it in the food and drink. Great job!

The room was a little small, but we still loved it anyway. We even loved the antique lift! Julia and team at Lilium Hotel, please keep up the fantastic work you guys have doing! We hope to see you guys soon!!! Ciao!!

p/s TIP:There's no signage, but if you get a group taxi from the airport it cost about E14 per pax (train is E15 per pax), they will drop you right at the doorstep (bring the address!!)

Room Tip: Get the room with a balcony. Its worth it if you are a couple.

“Classy & Cosy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

We went to this hotel for our honeymoon, 1 year ago, and were impressed by the kindness of the owners and the classy, neat style of the hotel. When the owners found out we were on our honeymoon, they offered us a bottle of champagne and snacks, which we found to be very polite.
The breakfast room is especially cute, with a small coffee bar and a self service breakfast.
The breakfast is quite above average of what you can find in similar priced hotels. While the others usually serve some store bought cake and espresso, Lilium served an elegant small spread of delicious food.
The hotel in on the 3rd floor of an old Roman building and has a lovely lobby where you can relax, and use their complimentary wi-fi.
Rooms are on the small side, but some have a cute little balcony with flowers.
We will definitely go back and suggest it to all our friends and family.

“Charming place, but with some problems”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 September 2011

Basic hotel and clean, with good air conditioning and good beds. Charming decor.

Problems:
* Breakfast lady seemed nice but didn't speak one word of English. Not one word (I find that surprising in a hotel used mainly by foreigners). The breakfast food was just okay, no concept of Cafe Americano.
* The elevator can only be accessed after climbing many stairs (with your suitcases when you show up).
* The location is close to the train station but not that close -- we walked from the train and found it hard because the sidewalks were in terrible condition and I couldn't roll the suitcase most of the way. The taxi drivers wouldn't drive us to the hotel because they said it was too close. But yet it's pretty far (maybe a third of a mile or so) and the streets aren't well marked there.
* Also on location, we love to walk and did walk several times to the main area where there are things you'd want to see (fountains, Forum, plazas), but it was a long walk (maybe two miles). There are many hotels located much closer.
* The internet connection is cumbersome and unreliable. You need not only a password, but to log into some proxy server -- the result is that I only had internet for five minutes of a three day stay.
* The television is entirely in Italian, no English channels, and late night there are inappropriate shows on, unblocked.
