Let me stress this is a budget hotel. We went into it expecting this. The room was clean. The front desk clerk was very friendly (but the clerk spoke quickly and his english was marginal so at times was a bit of a challenge to understand). The room was small but this is typical of Rome. If you want air conditioning you have to call the front desk to get it turned on which is a bit unusual but no problem if you are aware of it. The shower stall was the smallest I'd seen so wouldn't recommend for someone of wide carriage. Overall, the room was what we expected from a budget hotel and the customer service was outstanding.
This hotel is 100m from Rome termini station. Cafes nearby. Rooms were like all others around the area - old fashioned but fine. The beds were ok - big - but lacking support. Air con was good but you had to ring downstairs to change the temperature as there was no control in the bedroom. The front desk is manned 24hrs so that was great for departing at 4am like we did. I would stay again but it is just a budget hotel. There may be others in the same area that are a little cheaper.
This is by far the worst hotel I ever stayed at. Mold in the shower, AC hardly worked, shower head was half clogged. When brought to the attention of the management they were rude, and told us it was a "beautiful" room. Maybe mold is beautiful in your world, but not mine. My travel agent called from the US, and when expressed his concerns, they hung up on him. They sent a service guy up to the room who tried to clean the mold up with some toilet paper, yes, toilet paper. They were so unpleasant to my daughter she walked out the back entrance to avoid this guy, Andrea his name was. What a jerk. This guy needs to find another line of work. This place is a joke, and anyone who stays here after reading this deserves what they get.
We booked Hotel Giorgi for approximately $180AUD per night and when we arrived late at night to check in and they said that there was a mistake with their reservation system and overbooked. So we were sent to another hotel, a good 6 - 7 min walk with luggage - Hotel Lux which they stressed was a 4 star hotel with complimentary breakfast. The breakfast was stale, rooms were so small that you can't walk if you have luggage, moldy ceilings, no internet, everything was broken and falling apart and there was never any hot water. Even though we never had the privilege of staying at Hotel Giorgi it says a lot about their service.... What kind of hotel makes a mistake and then books us a room in a run down hotel that can't possibly have even 1 star to their name?! They didn't know the address of Hotel Lux either and didn't help us get their besides using verbal directions. They made no attempt in contacting us before we check in regarding this mistake. If a hotel makes a mistake they are suppose to find a replacement hotel of similar or better quality and service and if Hotel Lux was their choice then Hotel Giorgi must be terrible as well.
