“A very nice property in a very good location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2009

Clean, modern and conveinient. The staff helped us greatly on our arrival. While waiting for the rest of our extended family to arrive (Sunday), we were overheard by the staff wondering if and where we could go to mass. Within moments they got us the information we needed, got us a cab with a driver who spoke modest English, but gave us a great running narrative as he took us to St. Peters. We made mass and were so greatful! Our group did have a lovely breakfast buffett (but I don't know if we paid or not).
Rooms were very nice, beds were great, and the property immaculate!

“Jewel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2009

Whimsically decorated, with elegant rooms with all the amenities, including turn-down service and slippers, this is a jewel in the Ostiense area. Abundant Buffet breakfast, free internet, AC, and fair TV (CNN). Has a great restaurant but hotel is conveniently to Trattoria (Enzo is great)., Hotel not very frequented by tourists, it is short walk to the metro (Piramide), down the street from the Ostiense station (Train from Fiumicino Airport), and very well connected to center by public bus. I lived in the area 18 years and moved to thge hotel after 2 nights in my old place with very limited ac.......STaff was very helpful and I would go back tomorrow.

“Modern, clean, friendly.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2008

Having had a good tour with Riviera Travel before, we felt some confidence in them using the Abitart for their Rome tour despite the negative comments in other reviews. I can understand them, especially if staying here alone on business. The area is a bit scruffy, but the hotel is spotless and has examples of modern art all over, even the shape of the rooms! I found the staff very friendly and helpful. Despite the Expedia web site, smokers are discouraged but we were moved to a balcony room so that we could puff away without upsetting anyone. Also, there is no tea/coffee in the room, although mentioned on Expedia.
Unfortunately the restaurant was closed for refurbishment so can't comment on the food except breakfast was adequate, typical continental plus scrambled eggs. There are several restaurants if you turn left out of hotel, then first left after crossing main road. Don't use the main road one, called something like La Manga, we had problems even though it was nearly empty. Should have given us a clue!
I don't see anywhere on Trip Advisor to record comments on Riviera Travel but we were very happy with the tour saving us queing for tickets, excellent guide, avoiding crowds, well organised.

I enjoyed my stay here. The room was clean and spacious.

The room was awesome and they have free internet in the lobby.

The staff at the front desk were very helpful.

“Lovely experience”

My husband and I stayed at the Abitart for 3 nights and had a very good experience. Front desk staff (3 different people) were all very friendly: highlighted maps for us, detailed bus routes, and recommended a local restaurant.

Room was clean, beds comfortable and enough space for us to relax. We booked through a travel agent who requested a quieter side of the building, so no problem with noise. And, no problem with booking not being honoured. Free internet in the lobby was a nice extra.

The location was fine for us ... #60 bus took us directly to the Coliseum and other tourist attractions. We did not use taxis and were able to walk from the Coliseum to Spanish Steps etc.

Breakfast was simple, but exactly what we like ... good strong coffee, cereal, yogurt and dolce.

The Ostiense train station is the closest when coming from Rome airport. When you exit the train station, head to the left and go down the street (bit of sloping street going down and I don't know the name). At the bottom of the street, turn left and go under the overpass. At the next light you will see the Abitart across the street and a bit to your left. Not hard to find.

Enzo's is a restaurant close by that had very good local cuisine. Doesn't open until around 8pm, but well worth the wait.

We would stay here again and would recommend it to other travellers.
