“Perfect location.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 February 2011

We stayed twice in Jan. Three days before our cruise and 6 days after. We arrived early and while our room was being made up we were offered the breakfast which had a good assortment. It changed slightly each morning. It was a cold buffet but more then what we has expected. A coppuccio machine and coffee was wonderful to have.

When we came out of the subway the hotel was across the park. The train station was about a 5-10 minute walk. The train for the airport was at that end of the track. There were several good restaurants in the area. I do not remember the Italian name but the english name would be White Horse that was very good and not too expensive. The hotel staff was excellent particularly the manager. Clean and lots of towels. We were sick coming off the cruise so we were quite relieved to return to this hotel. Buses and trams were very close by.
We found the electric buses very good for viewing Rome. We bought the day passes

The area is a busy one with a mixed ethic groups but we always felt safe. An inexpensive hotel with an European open elevator. Reception on the 5 th floor.

“Good Choice”

The hotel is budget priced hotel with not many amenities BUT is located just over Vitorio Emanuelle Metro station (30 meters from entrance). We just needed a hotel just to relax when we were not walking around. Breakfast was good. Room was warm, clean and spacious. Mattresses need change. Elevator is old and if doors forgotten open then you will have to walk up to the 5th floor as the reception is located there. Many shops around, big super market by the corner and some good restaurants around. 5 minutes walk from a big local food market and cheap MAS store.

“Wonderful Hotel, Warm, Friendly Staff”

The hotel is wonderful. Do not be fooled by the exterior, the inside is very clean, very tastefully decorated, and comfortable.

The staff are professional, welcoming, and very accommodating. We had actually come to this hotel because the hotel we were staying at previously had so frustrated us with their awful service that we simply left, forfeiting one night of hotel fees.

At any rate, we are extremely satisfied with this hotel. It is good value for money, unbelievably cheap for the accommodations and service provided.

“Don't listen to the negative reviews. It's a great hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 July 2010

We stayed at Orazia for a week. The staff was very friendly. They made reservations for us, gave us travel advice, and spoke English very well. The room was clean and updated and large enough for the two of us. Yes, the TV and air conditioner were small, but that is typical for non-American. The breakfast was also an Italian breakfast (croissants, rolls, yogurt, cereal, fruit, coffee, tea, juice, etc), but filled us up well each day. Some reviewers have complained about the location. We loved how close it was to the sites and walked to almost everything. The park nearby does have some graffiti and the occasional urine smell, but this was common every where we we went in Rome. We never felt unsafe, even when returning around midnight. The elevator always worked, although it is small and slow. The only complaint is that the shower was small and drained slow, however we never bothered to tell the staff about the drainage problem.

“Disappointing...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2010

We saw the photos on the website and they looked nice. So when we got to the hotel, we were very let down. The area that the hotel is located is very dirty, a lot of immigrants in this area, we did not feel very safe walking the streets at night. The hotel is located on the 5th floor and has a lot of steps but offers a very old small elevator. At first the desk clerk was not at the desk so we had to ask the cleaning lady to find him. He came to the desk and was not very friendly. He put us in a very small room with 2 double beds pushed together. The view was terrible, overlooking other people apartments and a business right out the window. We immediately asked for a bigger room since we would be staying for 6 nights. He told us the next day we could switch. So he put us in a bigger room. The room had a queen sized bed that was very hard with hard pillows, a bigger bathroom with a bathtub but no shower curtain. My European hair dryer wouldn't fit into the plugs so I had to use the 1960's hair dryer that was on the wall. We had a small tv with only 1 English speaking channel (CNN) which we already expected living in Europe for 4 years. The view from this room was a little better. It was overlooking a big park which we could see the bums sleeping in at night and where people were shooting fire crackers off randomly throughout the night. The walls are very, very thin. Each night I could hear the people in the rooms next to us talking and watching their televisions. I had a very hard time sleeping. I could hear people as they walked down the hall past our room talking and just walking! The pros to this hotel were that it is right by the metro. Very easy access. There was one great Italian Restaurant that the clerk directed us to right down the street.
