The hotel Panda is a basic hotel but in a great location. I think our room was a triple as it had a small cotbed also in it, so it was not quite as small as I think it could have been if we had a normal double, and it had an en-suite and tiny balcony at the back looking on to other buildings. It also had a nice high ceiling with original beams and some slightly odd statues on a ledge above the bed but it made it a little quirky. We were only there for a day and a half so it was fine as a base for sleeping and spent our time out enjoying Rome. We went during high season so I was little worried about whether the air-conditioning would cope but it was fine (though a little noisy). The only negative thing was that in the bathroom there was a slight smell of sewage which I think probably is the drains and beyond the control of the hotel as it was 30C when we were there but it meant we had to remember to keep the door shut. Staff at the hotel were very nice and helpful and the room was clean, we arrived quite early, about 10:30am and were able to check-in early which was great. So it is a great base for sightseeing.
For the price (still seems a lot but it is not for Rome) the location is unbeatable.
