We arrived at Hotel Parker after a nine hour journey to be greeted by a dour, unsmiling, off-hand ( to the point of utter rudeness) sour faced woman. She spoke to us in a manner that took our breath away! She informed us in no uncertain terms and in clipped tones that we had to pay a tax for being a tourist of 2 euros per person per day. She said the word "tourist" like it was a dirty word. There was no welcome at all. This woman at the Parker Hotel was not unusual. The girl that prepared the breakfast was rude and spoke with what can only be described as hatred in her voice. Later we met another just as rude and just as sour dark haired woman on the desk. These three women were an utter disgrace. They should remember that they are ambassadors to Rome, Italy and as such should act with more decorum and grace or else they should leave their present occupation. The maids that cleaned our room each day were courteous and helpful and very pleasant.
These three unpleasant women should remember that if it wasn't for the tourists they wouldn't even have a job! My husband and I will NOT be returning or recommending anybody to this Hotel. Only book it if you like being spoken to like a piece of **it!
