“A wet week in Rome”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 March 2011

Hotel Milo is well located for the railway station and being on a smaller road has minimal traffic, so relatively quiet. With numerous restaurants nearby eating out in the evening was a matter of choosing which one. Our one bugbear is the lack of attention to the importance for some of us of non-smoking rooms. The bedrooms are meant to be non-smoking though there are ash trays provided, but the corridor outside the bedroom was quite pungent on arrival. To their credit the staff took us seriously, but could not move us (hotel was full). The best we could do was open windows. This hotel does include breakfast which was fine, though coffee other than instant would have been much appreciated.

“good value for money”

We booked this hotel because of the price and the location. It is very near to the main termini train station, infact it is literally over the road. Some tour books say the Termini area is a bit "dodgey" on a night time, but I have to say we never felt that at all. Yes there are people stood outside bars/restaurants but that is the same in any country. There are alot of people touting scarves and glasses etc..but again they leave you alone if you make it clear you are not interested. A few homeless people sleeping rough...but again, nothing we haven't seen before.
Good restaurant directly underneath the hotel - Estelle or something like that...lovely food and good prices 18 euros for 3 courses.
Hotel basic, but clean. Breakfast OK. Lots of bread and pastries...could do with some more fresh fruit or cold ham/cheeses as are often available in these types of hotels. Staff relatively friendly and helpfull.
The road outside the hotel - we were in rooms 304 qnd 306 are VERY noisey, but just general traffic. Nothing that the hotel could do about it.
Don't be conned by the touts for taxis at the airport. We paid 60 euros for a transfer to the hotel and the hotel quoted us the same price to go back.....we went to the Termini and got a white taxi for 40 euros....big saving when you are looking at a return ride...if you ask each driver the prices range from 40-45 euros. We went for a new mercedes that lloked clean and safe !!!!!!!
Rome itself is all within walking distance of the hotel. We would book again......

“Close to Termini station, good location & very friendly staff.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2011

We have enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The room was nice, clean and big enough for a family of 4 adults. The hotel is close to bus and train station and convenient if you get yourself a Roma pass which gives you unlimited free public transportation ride. Very close to Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore. The staff are very friendly and very pleasant to talk. One more morning, we have to leave early around 7:15 am to go to Vatican, one of the staff offered and packed for us a generous amount of croissant and orange juice because breakfast room is not open until 7:30 am. This saved as some euros since we don't need to buy our beakfast.

“Good trade off between price and quality”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2011

The overall quality is good. Position is 5 minute walking distance from Termini Railway Station and Subway. Room and bathroom are large enough and clean, with in-room safe. Stairs might be disappointing since you have to climb half a floor to get to the elevator, and one floor more from the 5th to the 6th floor if your room is there. Breakfast is italian style, with croissant, bread, jams, juices, coffee, milk and not much more. Anyway it's good and abundant. We managed to get a very good price and so we were pretty happy with the overall quality. I guess it might be worse in summer, since air conditioning is available on charge and you will be pretty annoyed by street noise if you try to let the window open.

We have really appreciated our stay in this Hotel and the welcome received from people.
The room was nice, clean and big enough for a family of 4; the Hotel is also really well placed. Possible agreement to park the car in a safe place. We will recommend your Hotel to my friend, if they plan to visit Roma...
