Stayed 3 nights in this hotel in Jan 2011. The rooms are incredibly small, at least the one I stayed in (ground floor). The walls are one meter away from the bed only. The shower stall doesn't close, therefore the bathroom becoms a swimming pool after 10 minutes. The ventilation is noisy and starts running as soon as the bathroom's light is on. Many rooms are next to the breakfast room and the din of hotel employees starts at 7.30am.
The breakfast is very basic, two rusks, butter, jam and cereals, plus a hot drink and that's it. Useless TV because it has only italian channels, but TV is not important for a stay in Rome.
The only good things are the price, the proximity to transports (Termini is 10 minutes by bus) and a relative kindness of employees.

We pleased right from the start with the friendly service of the manager Paolo as he let us into our room early so that we could explore the city without our luggage. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom very clean. It was a great place to rest after a day of touring; quiet and peaceful.

A great deal and a convenient location. Highly suggest for those who want to save money and still maintain comfort.

we stayed 2 nights and we had double room.The room was not so big but it's a standard size for European hotels.the cleaning service was exceptional, good position and many public transportation you desire next door.But the best plus was the front desk.Paolo helped us during our short stay on everything, any enquires, any map information....he was simply great!!!...always smailing and attitude for all guests and services.He is really good on this job and we would say to the property that you're so lucky to appointed him to manage this hotel.we travel a lot and we have been even to 4 and 5 stars hotel in Europe and we never saw a manager like him:extremely professional and perfect...Not even luxury hotel in Italy have a manager like him and we suggest the property that he will be a perfect 5 star hotel manager.....Thank's Paolo for made our stay unforgettable!!!we recommend this hotel to everyone!!!!

I was thorughly impressed with the service of the Galeno Hotel - admittedly one of the cheaper hotels and value for money - the rooms were clean and the hotel staff very friendly and welcoming - also speak English which was helpful as I don't speqk much italian. The receptionist Paolo was most welcoming. The hotel isn't too far from the main train station and just down the road from the Borromini chapel St Carlo of the Four Fountains - well worth a visit.
The breakfast wasn't a buffet style but the portions served were adequate - served promptly and with a smile.

I would stay at the Galeno again and would recommend this hotel particuraly to those on a budget - well worth the money.
