“One of the Worst Hotel In ROME - Hotel Acropoli”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

people found this review helpful

• The booking was for a double bed and we were assigned a room with five beds
• When the receptionist changed us to another bedroom, it was in the same conditions but with four single beds
• I told the receptionist that the room had nothing to do with what was advised by Hotel Reservation staff at the airport in rome.
• As these were stained walls, bad lighting, bad smell in room and bathroom and he said bluntly that it was all we have take or leave it.
• At the left side of Acropoli, there is another hotel that is 2 stars, I guess corresponded those rooms, if sent to through the front door that is on the left of the reception, I think awaiting them the same
• The room smelled like an ashtray even though I requested for a smoke free room.
• The entire place looks rundown, worn-out and in very poor maintenance conditions.
• Suppose to have wireless internet in the room, but it only works in the lobby
• I do not recommend unless you enjoy sleeping on a trash can!
• You can even invite a prostitute through the window without even leaving your room.
• The groups of shady characters made it scary to walk the street after dark.
• This HOTEL probably be the worst hotel in ROME and under HOTEL RESERVATION LIST at the Airport and BOOKING.Com
* Never recommend anyone to book through HOTEL RESERVATION Desk at the Airport in Rome, they cheat people by lying.
• Shame! And, once you make the booking, through Hotel Reservation Desk at the Rome Airport it seems your money is gone.
• The walls are crumbling, the dirt is everywhere an terrible cesspool smell lingers all over the hotel. There are no better and worse rooms in that place . All of them are a dump.
* The owner hasn't spent a dime for renovations as the "hotel" relies mainly on school kids.
• The hotel should have been closed down a long time ago as it is unfit for the human habitation and crates a health hazard.
• Also, the Hotel Reservation desk at the airport should remove this dump from it's list and refund the money to the customers that booked this cesspool

Beware of Hotel Reservation Desk at Rome Airport. do not make any reservation thru them. Hotel Reservation Desk informed us that the cost for the Double occupancy is Euro 37 per night. Booked room for 2 nights and did not realise what we were getting into. We paid Euro 60 (out of total cost of euro 74) and the lady informed that upon check out I need to pay the balance of AED 14 for 2 nights at the Hotel. There was something fishy. Upon check-in the room was not upto the mark as listed above so we refused to spend the night. Approached the Hotel Reservation Desk near Termini Station for a refund or another hotel and the Lady at the desk said we can re-book in another hotel but we cannot waive of the Booking cost (its not refundable - so we lost Euro 60) SO IN SIMPLE THE COST OF THE HOTEL IS EURO 7 PER NITE FOR THE ROOM and NOT EURO 37 as stated. EURO 30 is thier Booking charges. This clearly shows how the Hotel Reservation Desk at Rome Airport fleece you.

Please note I just reviewed the Hotel details on the website for curiosity, if you review the hotel details online: The images that appear on the site does not correspond to those that were assigned in reality when we arrived in Rome.

Room Tip: NOT RECOMMENDED to stay. Should be out of the List

“AVOID THIS HOTEL BY ALL MEANS”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2011

We made a mistake by booking this hotel through booking.com without reading the coments on the Tripadvisor first. Do not make the same mistake.Do not trust the description in booking.com. What's even worse is that the money you lay out through booking.com in non refundable (!) even if the hotel appears to be a ruined or burned down hole in the wall. (gives me a vicious idea to list with them my garage as a hotel !)
This place should be closed down by the authorities as an unsuitable for human residence. The dogs live better than this.
As the money was gone anyway and as we arrived for a few days only, after changing the room, we decided to put up with it for few more days. Maybe it will strenghten our stamina and we'll feel in heaven when we arrive in a Motel 6 next time. Every bad experience carries something beneficial in it..

Room Tip: Avoid the rooms on the street side as, at 5Am it will bring you close to comit a suecide

This hotel is just SO hard to explain...so I'll just tell you a little 'bout it. Some people say cold showers are refreshing, at this hotel, that will be your only option. If you love the sound of car-washes, you'll enjoy said sound every time any room touching yours flushes the toilet. Our room had the added feature of in-room snacks - - - smeared into the carpet. The beds left much to be desired, as did the slightly scary and not-at-all-confidence-inspiring neighborhood around Termini Station. During your stay, if you're in search for a more private room by the hourly rate, "Hotel Champagne Palace" (actual name...not joking) is right across the street and I imagine they would be quite accommodating. I never left valuables in the room, but I did overhear a lady loudly "discussing" with the front desk that one of the cleaning crew had taken it upon himself to permanently borrow €70 she had left in her luggage. Free wifi? HA! wifi, period?! HAHAHAHHAH! right. Well, we paid €100/night for one room w/ three people, and that was about €90 too much for this Hell hole. If you're looking at it purely from a "we didn't get murdered" standpoint, this hotel is worth 5 stars...from any other standpoint and it's hardly worth one.

Room Tip: There are no good rooms at this hotel.

“DO NOT VISIT - CLEANING PERSONEL STEAL”

DO NOT VISIT HOTEL ACROPOLI.

My sister went there with her school and the room cleaners stole her money and went through her personal belongings, looking for more to steal.

Absolutely pathetic.

“it was "ok"”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2011

Booked the hotel before reading reviews so was apprehensive of what hotel would be like. Our visit was not as bad as others, Hotel in bad need of a refurbish....
Room -small.. 2 beds pushed together..sheets /pillows nice and clean.and comfortable..only one electrical socket so either fan, phone or camera on at a time...toilet/ bidet / washhand basin and shower in a 8ft by 3ft bathroom...clean with no mould etc...stains on carpet and walls not seriously dirty.. room at back of Hotel quiet but don't expect a view...poor lighting at night.one ceiling light not bright enough to read by.
Reception ok friendly receptionists..corridors had holes in floor under carpet..
Tiny lift for 4 people which had a different covering on floor every day..to be fair there seemed to be some building work going on at top of building so probably the cardboard etc was an attempt to keep lift "clean"
Breakfast ..roll and jam and coffee...fine
Allowed to leave baggage in breakfast room until afternoon on checkout day.
Anyway to sum up.....Forget the condition of Hotel get out into the beautiful city of Rome..see the sights...get tired .. enjoy the holiday...

Room Tip: room at back..
