“Great for family with teens”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

My husband and our 2 teenagers stayed at the Windrose mid June 2011 for 3 or 4 nights. The price, convenience (walking distance to Termini) and quiet location were perfect for us. The staff was so helpful and accommodating if your flight is delayed by several hours as our was. The quad room was basic but a/c and hot showers after a long day of walking was wonderful. If you are looking for luxury, this is not for you but if you want an affordable, decent place for your family, you can' beat this. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

“Nice hotel good location”

We stayed at Windrose hotel for 3 nights, the atmosphere was friendly. The staff at the reception and at the breakfast was very helpful. The location of the hotel is convienient, its 2-3mins away from stazione Termini (Metro and train station) but at night its better to use the metro station Republica because it feels safer. You can also walk to the main tourist attractions. The breakfast buffet is rather small but you can order any kind of coffee you want. The room was nice and fitted our needs, and there was always hot water at the shower. The street in front of the hotel was quite but inside the room you could hear noises for the corridor.

“Small But Comfortable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2011

Conveniently located, this botique hotel provided us with a room that was clean with just enough room for two. We wouldn't have wanted any more luggage! Bathroom was tiny but functional. The hotel is close to the central station and pently of eateries.

Our room was on the third floor. We rejected a first floor room that was next to a meeting / dining area and was very noisy.

Staff were pleasant, helpful and efficient.

Breakfast met expectations. We'd stay again.

Room Tip: Make sure you're above level one.

“Great location, welcoming staff,”

Hotel Windrose is in a great location to reach all the main sites of Rome on foot and it is a stones throw from the Termini (bus station & Train Station). The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are basic and clean. All you need is somewhere to rest your head and get washed up as you will be out exploring the whole time you are there. The breakfast is continental and there is plenty to go round. The room is small but you do not have to wait to long for a table - 5mins max.
When I return to Rome I will be staying at this hotal again, as a lone traveller they have single rooms which are spot on for me :) I will recommend this Hotel to anyone who wants to go to Rome and be in the centre of everything.

Room Tip: I stayed on the 4th floor and my room was next to the elevator, slept like a baby no noise at all I...

“Convenient, quiet, cozy and clean”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2011

Just got back from Rome a couple of weeks ago. Spent three days at the Windrose and considering that is a property that is very centrally located in an older neighborhood, it was pretty nice. Granted, the rooms are small, but hey, this is an older building. There is a great restaurant right across the street, and internet cafe and electronics shop right around the corner. There is a great local market to the left as you go out the front door. Service was good and did not run into the sureliness mentioned in other comments. We were delivered to the front door by the airport shuttle for only $10 more than it would have cost for the train. After they dropped off people at other hotels located on busy streets, this place was a pleasant surprise. Nice and quiet considering that it was that close to the main train station and the Metro Hub. Our only issue was the size of the shower, but I have seen them small like this one in other parts of Europe in older buildings. The person complaining about the breakfast is not familiar with a normal continental breakfast and yes, right across the street is a couple of dumpsters (hey in downtown Rome, where do you think that businesses put their trash). The convenience, quiet street, the close restaurants, and the location close to the train station made it a great choice.
