We were in June / 07, this was an exciting experience, very nice place, delicious breakfast, clean bed, clean bathroom, we are very happy to have been there, we realy recommend it.

We stayed at vale & vale Mid September, we had two rooms at 90 euro each. The apartment had two bedrooms-one ensuite and one with large bath across hallway. Clean, convenient and comfortable. Located about 8 blocks from vatican in a residential section. Views of St. Peters from balcony. Only concern is the number of flights of stairs, a small elevator was available. The proprietor was very nice, spoke only italian but telephoned daughter for any translations necessary.

The recommended osteria was excellent and only a couple blocks away. The restaurant was called Giacomelli and served pasta, pizza seafood and everything else any would want. We sat outside and enjoyed great food, excellent service on a romantic side street.

This was a lovely B&B. the double room was large and we had a small balcony from which you could see the Vatican. we sat and had wine before heading out. We had to share a bathroom which we didnt know about until arriving but was immediately adjacent room and was large and clean. only have to share with 1 other room. the owners are lovely and friendly. is up several flights of stairs but there is a small lift! close to the vatican and underground which we used everyday. nice restaurants close by.

Found this place on trip advisor. 80 Euros per night inclusive including breakfast. Distance from Metro. Otoviano. It is four long blocks, not as close as they suggest on their website. 15 min walk to Vatican Museum, 20 min walk to St. Peters. They have two rooms. One dobule with two single beds and an ensuite toilet and shower. very smal no room even to open your suitecase. The other room, a triple, has one queen size bed and a single bed. This room has a small balcony and a fridge. the bathroom is private but not ensuite, it is directly across the hall. The shower in this room is a tiny phone booth. You almost have to raise your arms to shower. We were there three days and they did not provide any fresh towels and were very slow in restocking the toilet tissue. Rooms are small and smokey. Breakfast is included but it is only bread and coffee. It is on the eigth floor with only a small two person elevator. No english tv channels. They did arrange a shuttle from the aiport for 40 Euros. Valentina can communcate well on the internet but I'd give her spoken English about a B-. Decent Chinesse restaurant about 5 minutes down the street (toward the Vatican). It is open before 8pm and was reasonable, about 20 Euros for two drinks and two entrees.
