“The Worst Place I've Ever Stayed”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2005

When we showed up to this place, and there was no indication that it was even there, we should've just found a new place. But unfortunately we were persistent. We were lead through a courtyard to a room that the previous guests were still in. We had to sit while they kicked them out. Then, while they "cleaned" the room they sat us in some other room. At that point we left, because we had so little time in Rome to see the sites, so because this place was so aweful, we ended up carrying our bags around the city. Bad neighborhood, bad service, and I was basically afraid for my life.
DONT STAY HERE!

“When in Rome - don't visit Pink Floyd.”

Where do I start? On arrival at Rome Termini, I spent a good one and a half hours wandering the streets of Rome looking for the ill sign-posted, Hotel Pink Floyd. On eventually finding it, I thought I had arrived at the scene of Dante's Inferno.

The decor can only be described as being that of a retro-sixties crack-den. The bunk-beds, whilst functional (insofar as you could just about sleep on them - and we only managed this because we went out and got bladdered to make up for the pain of having to stay here) were somewhat dangerous. I sat up a bit too quick and ended up with a sharp shard of metal scraping my forehead.

Now onto the toilets. Ah yes, I thought I was in Rome yet I got to see one of the world's natural wonders, Niagra Falls recreated before my very eyes as I attempted to flush the unit. We basically had to limit our toilet trips during the night so as not to create a flood.

We didn't have to co-habit with any humans, although I would say that Alexander Fleming would've had a field-day with the amount of penicilin available - so at least if you need antibiotics, you can probably help yourself to the vast array of moulds there.

Bare wires in the wall (apprantly a television arial), removable windows (see 3rd reviewers pictures) and a wonderful door which needed kicking down practically to get in, all added to the experience of one night in purgatory.

Seriously though, I've stayed in many hostels - and this is by far the worst I've stayed in. Hostel isn't really appropriate - this is merely a couple of rooms in a ghetto - no social life.

Why it's called Pink Floyd? Who knows? The only reason I can think of is that you'd require an LSD trip of Roger Waters proportions to enjoy. Please don't stay if you value your time in Rome - it almost spoilt ours.

“Ghetto Pink Floyd”

I don't even know where to start with this one.
There was wires falling out of the walls, windows falling out of frames, doors which wouldn't open toilets which blocked up EVERY time we flushed it and much more which has probably since slipped from my memory.
We were supposed to be staying 2 nights, but could only bare the thought of one. So, we tried arguing the toss for quite some time with the management, eventually resulting in us paying a subsidised amount, but still WAY more than we would have hoped. Plus they had our passports so we weren't in the best position to argue.

Don't even think about stopping here, seriously. We went literally around the corner and found a very nice hotel for the 2nd night, which cost about 5 euros more each, and instead we got 2 rooms between the 4 of us (instead of 1), breakfast, a NICE hotel, friendly staff, air con, a little fridge in our rooms...etc etc
Seriously it was so close to the hostel and so nearly the same price, check it out. Cant remember what it was called, unfortunately but if you turned left out of the hostel and walk to the end of the street and turn left again, its on the right.
Im gonna try and attach some pictures.

“No thanks...”

This hostel is not worth your time, not worth your money and it is not even a hostel. We had the same experience as the other people here and the people we met at the "hostel" had been directed to a brothel to check in. There are cameras in the hallways, and I am thinking they are not there for security reasons. There was a kitchen but we were basically told that we were not allowed to use it and it wasn't for the guests (then who was it for??...) I would not recommend staying in this hostel, it gave us a very bad taste of Rome overall. It is also near the train station which could be considered convenient but also means you are placed in a much more dangerous area of town. We witnessed several people getting robbed in the area and did not feel safe at all.

“Absolutely awful..............”

Arrived on time, staff were rude and unpleasant and quite unhelpful.
Was expecting to stay in a hostel called pink Floyd but I was lead into a courtyard to an apartment on the top floor which was basically a 3 bedroom flat............
I had booked a single room and was disgusted by how small it was, plus it had bunkbeds in there and there was hardly enough space to swing a cat around anyway!! If you're claustrophobic then this is a definate no no.
I had difficulty opening the front door to the actually flat as did many other guests, but luckily it was open most nights.
I just have to say it was the worst place I have ever stayed in and for £45 per night I could have had a much nicer place. Don't listen to the garbage they write on their website.....it's utter bull..............
