“Bad Hostel Alert”

Do not stay in this hostel. My two female friends and I booked a 6 bed female dorm and for two nights were forced to share with a male. When we first confronted the management about this they lied to us and told us there was not a man sleeping in our 8 bed dorm. The manager eventually conceded that there was a man staying there but refused to change our room and even threatened to kick us out at one point. We did not get what we booked and i would never stay there again.

Not sure why the bad comments. It is a hostel no a HOTEL.

Room was clean and safe. We had the 4 bedded room, on-suite which had 1 bunk bed and 2 singles. Toilet, sink and shower.

The room was just off the office which sometimes you heard people chatting but not a big problem.

Breakfact was a croissant and cake and a glass of orange juice - which is not because they are tight people, but because that is what you have for brekkie in Italy.

The area it is in is not as nice as some areas of Rome. By this I mean a few 'tramps' but you did not feel unsafe and you get these in most city centre's. It is next to the station which is great for getting about and getting your bearings if lost.

All in all it was excellent value and would recommend to friends if they need a hostel in Rome.

“Simple nightmare”

Avoid this hostel if you can. We have paid for a triple room with en-suite facilities. We got a room with 2 one-storey bed. The upper bed was on a strange level that you could not sit on the lower bed. The bathroom was outside, you had to go through a corridor in your nightgown. The bathroom is so small that you can not put your pijamas anywhere. The breakfast was a small cup of black coffee (without milk) and 2 small sweet something packed in cellophane. We asked to have it at 8 in the morning (it was served in the room) . Once we got it at 9, once at 9h 30, and once we were forgotten. We tried to make some food in the kitchen - but it was so cold that the water did not start to boil, the capacity of the electric cooker was not enough to heat the water and the air of the kitchen. And it was so cold in the house... We were almost frozen. There were some cold days at that time, and the heating capacity is a peanut.

Terrible hostel, breakfast was a packaged croissant and the internet and credit card machines were broken, no one was around when i had to check out at 10:00 am on a saturday morning (no breakfast was served this day because no one was there) and i was charged an additional 40 euros even though i paid for my entire stay with cash. they also lost my reservation but by chance had a bed available.

“Avoid the Hostel Eden”

Hostel Eden no longer had a room for me when I arrived in Rome even though I booked in January for a March stay (and I arrived on time).
Instead of telling me that there wasn't a room available I was told to walk around for 2 hours and come back while my room was cleaned. When I got back i was they told me about the "problem". They said that there was another hostel that i could stay at for the same price and gave me directions. When I got there and settled in I found out that the price was not the same. It was 20 euros more each night. At least the new hostel was not in such a shady neighborhood. It was also run more like a hotel and less like a room off of someone's kitchen. Avoid the Hostel Eden.
