“Good to spend the night.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 December 2006

The rooms and bathroom were comfortable enough. The fourth floor that they call a restaurant isn't worth visiting. Grab a snack from the supermarket on your way into town in the morning, and don't return to the hotel hungry.

Easy enough to get into town from. One suggestion, take a walk one morning to the catacombs, 1,200 m from the hotel.

  • Liked — Decent access into town
  • Disliked — Horrible food
  • Tips/Secrets — Just sleep here, don't plan to do anything else

“Shame about the manners”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2006

Just had 3 nights at the Roma Park in Rome. Overall we enjoyed ourselves, however the hotel left a little to be desired. The walls in the bathroom were not of a good standard with mould on the shower etc. The room itself was very nice, a nice size and nice furnishings, for some reason there is a small kitchenette enclosed in part of the wardrobe which is not usable.

Our biggest disappointment was the staff, or should I say the reception staff. They were really quite ignorant and rude and we were nothing but polite to them. We only had a drink at the bar once (which was manned by the reception staff) and it was after we had been out for a meal and thought we would have a warm drink in the lounge. My mother asked for a hot chocolate and the guy just said NO I don't do chocolate, i will make you a coffee and that's it. When we left he never said thank you (even though we did) and never wished us a pleasant journey or anything at all. Just rude and with no just cause.

We enjoyed Rome and if you are just looking for a base whilst you get around sight seeing as we were it will suffice, however I do not think the service or the bathrooms warrant a 4 star status.

  • Liked — The nice big room
  • Disliked — Mouldy bathroom, reception staff
  • Tips/Secrets — Use the bus, you can catch it locally and it takes you in to the heart of the city

“Very clean and modern rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2006

I found this to be a very clean hotel, excellent maid service. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the rooms modern, with wooden laminate floors and attractive bed covers/curtains (which is rare in most hotels!) . No real facitilies for a 4 star hotel and a 10-15 walk to the nearest metro into the centre, which is a drawback, but I'd definitly recommend it for the more adventurous traveller and I stayed for 7 nts!

“No way is this a 4* - In urgent need of review!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2006

When we arrived, we were concerned about the location as the neigbourhood looked a little dodgey. None the less we thought we would give it the benefit of the doubt.

The security was excellent but I was very concerned as to why the owners had gone to such extremes to protect the hotel. Even so, this must be seen as a positive on their part.

The hotel lobby was quite stylish, however the bar consisted of three stalls and was only manned if the receptionist was free, otherwise forget it.

When arriving in our rooms we found them to be clean. The shower was a little mouldy but I have seen worse. You cannot fault the work of the maids as they ensured the room was spotless every day.

We were quite disappointed to see no tea or coffee making facilities but put that down to a cultural difference. We were astounded, however, to see two cooking hobs yet no utensils or pans to actually cook with! There was a fridge which was partially stocked and a mini-safe.

The room came equiped with Sky TV which was extremly useful during the recent terrorist scare which occured on our last day.

The staff at the hotel could not be bothered to help us at all. One such example is when we needed to borrow an iron. We were told that the hotel only had one and it had already been borrowed by another room. If we wanted it, we had to knock and ask for it ourselves.

On our first night we were tired and hungry and just wanted a pizza delivered to our room (there was no where to go nearby and no food is served other than at breakfast time). The receptionist was less than helpful and we struggled for 20 minutes to be understood by the pizza parlour.

By the end of the trip I made a point of not even speaking to the Receptionist staff. From the moment we arrived we felt as though we had offended them in some way and that they couldn't be bothered with us so I made a point of not going to them for anything.

The breakfast room was ok but very hot in the mornings. It was more on par with 2* then 4*, to be honest.

The location was poor, there is no basic welcome information in the room other than a poor marketing leaflet and the reception staff try to push an excursion brochure on you from the moment you enter, which is extremly expensive. At this hotel and as a first time visitor to Rome, you really do feel like a stranger and completly out of your depth. It's hardly a warm welcome.

I would recommend that someone look seriously at regrading this hotel as it doesn't deserve 4*'s in my opinion!

  • Liked — The maids did a good job, the room was very clean.
  • Disliked — The Reception staff were extremly unhelpful and the location was poor.
  • Tips/Secrets — I personally will never go there again.

“Not a four star by any stretch !”

This hotel staff tried but couldn't make this property worth any more than a two star.
Air conditioning could not be turned on in mid May in the rooms but the lobby was nicely cooled . The location was not close to anything and the neighborhood was questionable. We were gratefull for the locked gate to the property. Rooms were adequate but nothing that I would recommend.
