Staff moved our luggage from our room to another while we were out without informing us or allowing us to pack up first. Theoretical reason: faulty plumbing that was leaking below. Probable reason: there were only 4 of us in a 6 bed room and they needed the 6 bed room for someone else (they moved us to a 4 bed room). In any case, if you stay there, keep your luggage packed up...you never know when they might decide it needs to move. The rooms are very tight; bathrooms decent; elevator small; management poor.

Instead of 3 twin rooms as reserved, the hostel claimed to only have 1 room for 6. I was going to stay at another hotel in the same building for the same price, when the hostel happened to find a twin room. The room was small but comfortable, and the shower stall was dirty. You have to pull on a cord hanging in the shower to get hot water, which the staff failed to tell me when I complained about the lack of hot water. Close to Termini train/metro.

Unclean bathroom and main room. No hot water for two-days , refused to make amends. Refused to change bed linen and bath linen, without a fee, for 5 days. Would not allow me into the room, because my roommate had a key. I had to wait for nearly a half-hour before I finally convinced them that the roommate was in to room already.

Location is great, very close to Roma Termini, perfect location to many famous sightseeing sites. Oh yes, as mentioned in other reviews, Hostel Stargate shares the same building (with the same entrance) with other hostels!!!

We booked a double bed private ensuite for two nights with about 55 Euro. The room is small, especially the toilet... If you are tall and built, you might find it difficult to squeeze yourself in the shower area and shut the door for "private business". Do not take long shower too, because the water might not be able to escape quickly enough and would cause mini-flood in your room (this happened to us)! At night, we could hear noises from the streets and the hotel corridor, which could be pretty disturbing. Other than these three weaknesses, the room was generally clean and well equipped with basic things like hot/cold shower, TV, refrigerator, wardrobe, shower gel/shampoo and toilet rolls.

This might not be an ideal place for all travelers, but it is definitely a good place for budget travelers, especially young couples who want private accommodation with low rates.
