“Great and friendly Hotel - very nice crew in a lifley and trendy quarter”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 February 2011

We asked for a romantic room upstairs with a nice view - and alberto, the very helkpfuly and friendly manager, has given us a great room with a wonderful view on the square with the market and church and his tower - we even could see the hill and mountains! Room was very cosey - little but not too little, beds are really nice, all clean, italian styled. Breakfast room in a cave very speciall and we had good fresh made coffee there. Location is great if you like to stay in a trendy and alteritave lifely aera with great bars, restaurants, small fashion and vintage store, lots of life music and art - not the overpriced and overrated touristic zone of rome, more the real rome - but also very close to Coloseum and termini - for those who are lazy - they can catch bus 71 or 492 nearby to vatican or plaza spagna, nr. 3 to colosseum - coming from the airport fiumcino its better to go with train FR 1 to Tiburtina Station and then taking the bus outside Nr.71 directly to Porto San Lorenzo (8 minutes). Theres a great enotecca leftside from hotel with antipasti buffet and great wine and also a super pizza to go place right from the hotel as well as the small market offers fresh fruits and cheese and more! At night, theres lots of people making it a reall scenic square. But - windows closing well, so it never is too loud if you wanna sleep well - we highly recommend the hotel and his friendly staff and the aera for those who are not to stiff and looking for something real in rome. (PS: Check out the micca club through the passage in via micca pietro) a great lounge and cocktail retro club!

“TERRIBLE...WORST HOTEL EVER!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 December 2010

Terrible place to stay doesn't matter if you 're on budget or not.they just don't like tourists the staff was very rude and unfriendlly.I went with my husband and parents we got there 10pm in a hot day ,one of the bedroons the AC wasn't working the recepcionist told us that we should sleep and He would call someone to fix the next day.we changed rooms.but all looks the same dirty, the elevator isdisgusting. The breakfast don't even bother with...really bad...worst juice ever. Also is far ...really far from main sightseens in Rome...and the area It's a "student area",loud...I would say not the best area to stay in Rome.Overall I liked Rome but the hotel never ever will see me again....please DON"T STAY THERE...and enjoy ROME it's fantastic!!

“Won't stay there again!”

We stopped in Rome for our last three days of our honeymoon. We dont have much money, and thought that 75EUR for a room with a balcony in Rome would be a great deal!
Well, there were 36c and had to use the aircon. Only problem is that it started to leak quite badly and flooded the floor!!! This was 2am, we asked if there was something that they could do, reply 'Sorry not till tomorrow morning'. We didnt sleep much.
Morning after, they downgraded us to a small room on 3rd floor, facing the square again. It was supposed to be a double but was in fact a twin with beds pushed together, not what you want on your honeymoon!

Also, hotel has no iron, something that we thought it was unheard of!

I agree with all those that have said towels were rubbish (I even tore one apart as I was drying my hair with it!!!), place is dirty and staff unfriendly except for one or two guys at reception.
At breakfast we were shouted at by a woman who said '5 minutes', not even 'Excuse me please ,you have got 5 minutes to finish your breakfast'.

Then, on both mornings, we had cleaning staff walking into our room!!!!!

Terrible place, area isnt too bad, can look scary for someone not used to Italian lefty kind of feeling, but we walked to hotel both nights at 4am and felt relatively safe.

I wouldnt go there, and i would agree with those who have said to stay at a more expensive hostel, then at last you know what you get!

“Nightmare”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 August 2010

What a disappointing experience! (to say the least). The hotel is not close to the city centre and a good 30 mints walk from the main entrance of the train station, too long if you are pulling suitcases. The area is very uninviting and a bit scary at night. We arrived at the reception desk to find the receptionist sitting behind a computer and we couldn’t help but notice a wet stain down his pants, which I believe might have something to do with whatever he was doing at the computer, what a horrific first impression. It only went downhill from then, the bedroom was very dusty and the tiles in the bathroom where cracked and dirty. There were hairs on the bed and the towels were of very cheap quality. Don't get me started on breakfast; stale break, no ham or cheese, just butter and jam and very rude staff. To be honest if you are travelling to Italy on a budget, you should either avoid Rome or stay at a trendy hostel. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to my worst enemy.

“Cosy and handy”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 June 2010

This is a quet and comfortable within 15 minutes of Termini railway station (although you take your life in your hands to walk there...), The rooms are reasonable, although the one we stayed in had steps in peculiar places and loose wooden strips -- tripping hazards waiting to happen. The hotel has free wifi but no printer on which to print a boarding pass, which seems strange in this day and age,

  • Liked — Located handily enough but off the rat-runs
  • Disliked — Tripping hazards
