“Fantastico”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

We stayed at this fantastic B&B as we were in Rome for the 6 Nations Rugby. It is a real gem of a place. Vencenzo and Vera gath us the most amazingly warm welcome. It is spotlessly clean, very quirky and located perfectly. Breakfast is plentiful and you can even have a tray delivered to your room. I cant wait to go back to stay - preferrably when there is less snow!

“Wonderful Hotel, Perfect Location”

My husband & I have just returned from a long weekend in Rome celebrating our first wedding anniversary. I mentioned this on the booking form and we were given a four poster bed and complimentary champagne. Even having endured the worst weather Rome has seen for 25 years, deep snow, we had a great time and the hotel contributed to this. The hotel oozes with charm, is spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. It is not a characterless plastic modern box but an olde worlde charming place, with cherubs and makes you think you have stepped back in time, it is welcoming, warm with plenty of hot water and comfortable beds.
Breakfast was lovely with plenty to eat and even though the coffee is a machine, it is very good coffee. You help yourself to warm fresh croissants, ham cheeses, pates, cereals, etc etc and you can fill up for the day. We enjoyed it every morning.
The staff are lovely, Vera went out of her way on our arrival, giving us hints and tips on routes to see all sights and eat at good reasonaby priced restaurants. Vincenzo was ever present, happy to help with a nice warm greeting every time we saw him.
The location is perfect, you are directly behind the piazza navona, just a very short walk away, and within walking distance of trevi fountain pantheon, spanish steps, you can then hop on metro to termini and catch another to collosseum. We walked back to the hotel from the piazza de popolo, not that far at all really. Absolutely brilliant location.
If you stay here be sure to eat at Navona Notte, excellent, we had meal for 2 for 68 euros, with 7 mixed bruschettas, steak main course each, desserts and red wine, all delicious and they do a good set menu too. The surrounding area is a maze of cobbled streets with antique shops and lovely bars and restaurants. You really cannot go wrong booking this hotel for value, comfort and location with excellent staff. Thankyou Vera and Vincenzo.

Room Tip: We were in room 6 with a four poster, lovely

“Great location”

The location is great! If you have good walking shoes and you are staying in this hotel, you can walk to most of the sights. We did not use the Roma Pass until our third day when we went to St. Peter's. If I had known about the location, we would probably not get the Roma Pass.
The hotel decor is old and it takes a little bit getting used to. Dark-colored carpeting freaks me out a little but the bathroom is clean so it made me a little comfortable with the dark green carpet. I believe the hotel occupies the first floor which can look like you're in a basement because you have to walk down the steps to get to the hotel. Remember though that much of Rome's ground level has risen 30 ft. But no, it's not a basement, you still have big windows if you want light. We were on the side of the street so when people partied late like on New Year's eve, you can hear footsteps early in the morning, but it's not everyday. Most of the time, the street gets quiet early at night.
There is free internet as well.
We we're not too crazy about the breakfast. Freshly-baked Flavored croissant and your choice of morning drink may sound good for a day but having it everyday for 4 days is like punishment.
The staff were helpful and friendly. Viera(?) gave us information about going to the airport and Vicencio was able to get us a good rate for a cab considering it was an early trip.

“Great location and charming ambiance”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

This little bed and breakfast is a great find. The people who run the place - Vicenzo and Vera are so warm and welcoming. Vera is the kind of person who goes out of her way to make sure you are comfortable and your needs are being met. We only had breakfast one day because we were so busy with excursions and tours that started early. Vera showed us how to turn on the juice/coffee machine. This is not a reflection of the bed/breakfast but what surprised me in Paris and in Rome that most of the coffee comes from machines and isn't made fresh. The hotel was quiet and the room we had (at of the hall and to the right) was quite roomy (it had a daybed to sit on) and inviting. It isn't a brand new luxury place, but it has great charm. We would definitely stay there again!

Room Tip: Our room faced the street (which was a fairly busy street). In spite of that, we didn't hear a l...

“Wonderful Location, Perfect Stay”

My partner and I celebrated our five year anniversary at this hotel last weekend, having chosen it after reading all of the brilliant reviews. We were not at all disappointed - the hotel and the trip by far exceeded our expectations! Vera and Vincenzo couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful - When we first arrived Vera made sure that we could make the most of our trip with our limited time, pointing out on an extremely useful map where everything was, how to get there, and even providing some fantastic recommendations for restaurants and events. When Vera found out it was our anniversary, not only was she sure to put us in an especially lovely room - she even sent in some free champagne for us to enjoy before we set out for the day! They were also more than happy to arrange our return transfer to the airport and hold our baggage for as long as we needed until it was time to leave.

The location couldn't have been better, we were in walking distance from absolutely everything we wanted to see - and all of the big sites. It was also a safe, open location with a beautiful view of the river and Castel Sant'Angelo just steps from the door. Also conveniently extremely near to many fantastic and reasonably priced restaurants, cafes and bars. It was much easier to find than I expected from other reviews - with a large visible sign indicating the entrance and a clearly marked buzzer.

The breakfast was perfect and delicious - with a wide selection of items. We particularly enjoyed the croissants baked freshly every morning - cream, chocolate or plain - which always filled the hotel with a lovely homely scent. The mini-bar was also well stocked and very reasonably priced.

I am so glad we chose this hotel and can't imagine our trip being half as good or memorable if we had been anywhere else. If we are ever lucky enough to return to Rome, there is no way we would stay anywhere but here. A huge thanks again to the wonderful staff!
