“Fantastic location and great accommodation.”

we were staying in Rome twice on this trip - 4 days at the begining and 4 at the end.

The first 4 we stayed at the Margutta Loft. What a great space to have as a base in Rome - an old painters loft. Perfect accommodation - bed and sofa beds very very comfortable, perfect location - close to everything, perfect, just perfect. We arrived later than expected but when we finally did arrive we found Giorgia waiting for us with the keys. Giorgia was exceptional with her assistance during our entire time in Rome. Our favourite restaurant in Rome hands down is Osteria Margutta (just down the cobblestone road) - the best grilled beef fillet in the world!!

Our second stay was the apartnent 'Allegri 1' in the building in Piazza di Spagna. Our one bedroom apartment overlooked the steps. How perfect!! This apartment was spotless. The living space and bedroom were a good size and the kitchen was very well equiped. the whole experience with this family run (i think??) hotel was great. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We also has a look at some of the other apartments in the building. I don't think there was a bad one among them.

For your info: don't book your airport/hotel transfer from home, Giorgia organised all our transfers in Rome and they were 50% cheaper than the price we were quoted at home.

“Best Location in Rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

After MUCH research on tripadvisor about hotels in Rome, we decided to take a chance and book at Internazionale Domus, and we were VERY glad we did. The Hotels location was absolutely amazing. The room was very spacious and clean, and the staff, especially Daniel, were so helpful with anything you needed. The price to stay here was one of the best for it's money in Rome and if ever traveling back there, we would surely stay at this hotel again!!

“Excellent location and great place to stay in Rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 September 2011

My children 8 & 11 and my husband stayed here in august 2011. It was a perfect location, directly next door to the Spanish steps. Our room overlooked it on the 3 rd floor. The room was large and very clean. The staff was very nice and helpful. I only found one negative and that was the old elevator. It only fits 1 person and 1 suitcase. We took mostly the stairs which were fine ( very nice wide staircase)but when you have a lot of luggage it's a pain because you need to take a
few trips up the elevator. We enjoyed the location and the room very much. They even had free Internet and computers you can use in the hallways. We would definitely recommend it.

“Impressed with location and accommodation!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2011

1st trip to Rome for us. Travelled in July 2011. Family of four (two teenage boys). Looking for spacious accommodation, clean and safe as well as accessible to all the sights of Rome. All expectations met and exceeded. Airport pick up exactly as planned. Lovely driver who made every effort to communicate with us despite the fact he did not speak English. He eagerly pointed out the sights of Rome as we drove past. 60 Euros for the drive in to hotel. On arrival at hotel in Spanish Steps area it was very, very crowded and busy...I wondered if it would be too noisy to get any sleep but this concern was completely unfounded...it was lovely and quiet inside the building. Hotel location was not obvious...the driver could not get near the front door with the crowds and horse and buggies...so if you are facing the Spanish Steps look for the building to the left of the Steps next to the first alleyway that leads to the metro. It has R. Pierret above the door and no sign indicating Internazionale Domus ( there is a bell in the door frame with Internazionale Domus on it that you'll need to buzz for entry). Note: Internazionale Domus reception is on the third floor of this building. We loved the authenticity of the elevator but if you have a lot of luggage, or multiple members in your party, you'll need to make a few trips. Without the luggage we happily used the stairs. It was all we expected and more. Very spacious, clean, safe, quiet and cool (it's hot in Rome in July). We had a small apartment (kitchen, bathroom, living area with queen-sized pull out and separate bedroom). Overlooking Spanish Steps. Lovely! The Manager (Daniele) and staff are most welcoming and very helpful. The location is within easy walking distance to all the sights and shopping of Rome and the Metro access is nearby making getting from place to place so easy. I will recommend it to friends and stay there again when I am next in Rome (which will be very soon...we loved it!).

“Location, location, location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2011

What an amazing place to stay ... simply the best location in town!

Our rooms, the Caravaggio, looked out onto the Spanish Steps. They were clean, spacious and well appointed, with very well used tea and coffee making facilities. It is not grand, although the bathroom's a marble haven.. but who cares when the accommodation provides everything you need and you can look out of your balcony windows onto the Spanish Steps (and the cats sunbathing in the flats below) whenever you want to?

Right in the middle of lots and lots of really nice shops, we came with good intentions to save money by eating in, using the Spar down the road and the very helpful cooking facilities provided. In reality we did this once, on our first night. Instead we succumbed to several different restaurants close by for dinner, and the (very expensive) delights of Babington's tea rooms next door for breakfast on three of our five day stay. Looks snooty, but the service was helpful and quite swift, and the multi-course pancake, cooked, and then toast special was filling enough to take you through the day.

The hotel is reasonably priced, with exceptionally helpful staff (they even managed to find a shop for my dotty friend who wanted to find an accordion in Rome city centre ... while the rest of the party - and most of the rest of Rome, it seemed - went to a bar to watch the Six Nations rugby).

Only three gripes - two minor and one word of warning.

1 Check who the reception staff are booking for the airport shuttle service. Be sure you avoid the youngish, smartly-dressed, bald-headed driver of a large silver five-man taxi, as he's the only person I've ever seen who spends a third of his time texting while driving (really fast)

2 Only use the breakfast vouchers provided by the hotel if you as thin as a stick insect. We struggled in and out of our table, to the stony stares of native Romans.

3 Don't get in the lift if you are at all claustraphobic, as it shudders with the authenticity of 19th century engineering and does not inspire confidence.

Otherwise this was a brilliant place to stay, and where I will stay next time Ireland are playing Italy away (2013)!

Room Tip: Book the ones overlooking the Spanish Steps for the best view ever
