“DO NOT STAY HERE”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2011

I would not recommend this place to anyone!!!
-trying to find the place is extremely difficult, although the location is good, there is no sign anywhere on the building saying what it is, we had to ask another hotel where it was!
-when we arrived we were told the credit card machine was 'broken' and we would have to pay cash. This would have been fine if it was a one off this, but we stayed for five days and the sign saying it was 'broken' was there every day. A problem with such a machine can be fixed in a day. I would have appreciated and quick email to let us know it was broken. It was extremely suss.
-there is also a tax you have to pay that added about €20 onto our stay, they said you have to pay it everywhere it italy, so far we haven't come across it anywhere else.
-the kitchen is small and in a small common room so it is not ideal.
-the place is not clean. Our room was dirty, we had a private room, you had to walk through a small corridor to get there and the corridor smelt horribly. The bed was gross, there were stains on the doona cover and it looked like it hadn't been washed in months. The bathroom was small, the shower was like a weak tap, and it leaked all over the floor and into the room. The toilet smelt, and the flush didn't work properly. The shower leaked so much we had to use the towels they provided us with as mats, and then on our second last day they took both of our towels, but only gave us one instead of two. Luckily we had our own traveling towels. The floor in our room was unclean and I wore shoes whenever I touched it.
-they specify the hostel is a quiet zone from 11pm till 8am. But that is not true. The street is very noisy, which I know is not their fault, but there are people coming and going at all hours. What really bothered me was our room was situated next to a washing room, and the washing machines were going all night long, so there was no quiet zone. Which made sleeping very difficult.
-they cannot say they are non smoking. The people who work their stand at the outside door to the common room and smoke, letting all the smoke blow indoors, and they don't seem to care who it bothers.
-I did not feel safe here and left no valuables in the room, the door was questionable and it would have been easy for someone to enter my room when I wasn't there.
I would not recommend anyone stay here!!!!

“A good place to spend the night”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2011

Very close to Termini Station, a very good location and very well connected with the rest of the city!! The place is not that clean and comfortable, but it was ok to spend to spend the night on a budget.

“Really enjoyed it- for people who just need to rest for the night”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2010

I went there in 2008 and I promised to myself that I will rate...
Anyway, the staffs were very friendly, they even took 12 of us for clubbing!
The evening dinner is a nice way to socialize among travelers if you want to.
Overall, great experience that made my Rome trip wonderful.

“Bed Bugs & Awful Service - Do Not Stay Here”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 September 2010

I was booked to stay here for 2 nights. On the first night I went to bed about 11pm in a shared dorm. 2 hours later I woke up to find the bed swimming in bed bugs and my arms covered in bites.

I went down to reception and quietly explained the situation. Their only and final solution was to give me my money back and to find somewhere else. So I was left wandering Rome in the middle of the night to find somewhere else. They offered me no help in finding alternative accommodation.

I returned the next day to speak to the manager. He was not to be shifted on their solution. I asked for help finding somewhere else and for some money to have my clothes and back pack cleaned. They gave me nothing. The manager was not at all apologetic, and was completely dismissive of the situation.

Worst of all? Someone else was now sleeping in the bed they knew was invested with bedbugs.

In short: do not stay here, they have bed bugs and the service is a disgrace.

“bed bugs - horrible hostel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 June 2010

The worst hostel I've ever been. The rooms were not clean, towels weren't changed and most of all there were BED BUGS. We were bitten on the first night and when we woke up there were bite marks all over our bodies. The bite marks looked like little clusters of red dots in the beginning that were very itchy and start to swell after a day. When we reported it to the reception they denied that there were bed bugs and that there weren't any other complaints from other guests. But having been bitten years ago I was definitely sure what we had were bed bug bites. At breakfast we also saw one girls with red marks all over her legs that looked very similar to ours but was probably not aware of what they were. The bite marks remained itchy and swollen for a week and left horrible dark marks around our bodies from neck down to feet. We got more than 20 bite marks each. Will never recommend this hostel to anyone.
