“Well-ordered and professional”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

The Hotel Fiume is not grand, but provides many benefits. The reception staff are highly professional and courteous, the rooms are clean and well organised, and the small lounge is comfortable with an obliging hostess behind the bar. The breakfast was first rate. The only downsides were that neither the reception level nor the breakfast room were at the same level as the lift, but were both up flights of about 8 steps, which makes it difficult for anyone with walking difficulties. Also there is no hotel restaurant for evening meals.

The Villa Borghese is within walking distance and all the attractions of the historic centre are within a short cab ride. There are several good restaurants in the surrounding streets. This is the civilised face of Rome.

“Excellent breakfasts and good rooom - quiite far from metro”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

Hello,

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in June 2011 and overall it was great.

Positives:

o The breakfasts were really excellent, the best we had all year and we visited many hotels.
o The room was clean, not really small although it did have a musty smell likely due to previous ocupants smoking and/or latent humidity in the air that in some ways is unavoidable I guess. We asked for a change of room and it was granted quickly.
o We paid about 130 Euros a night for a double room that I think is good value.
o There are some very nice places to eat nearby.
o The staff spoke good English and some of them Spanish.
o No problem with leaving luggage for some hours on the last day of our stay.
o The cleaners were friendly!

Negatives:
o It is a bit of a walk (15 minutes) to the Metro although there is a bus you can take to Tivoli station.
o We found the attitide of one of the receptionists quite distant and rude to one of the other staff members who was helping us with our bags. The other one was fine. Maybe he was just having a bad day as we all do!

Overall we would certainly go back.

Jonathan.

“friendly staff”

Hotel staff was very helpful and courteous with sight seeing and making suggestions for dinner or shopping. The bathroom with a small tub was one of our largest bathrooms of our trip to Italy. Walking distance to Borghese and other sights and accessible with public buses or Number 19 Tram. Slightly quieter area than locations near Roma Termini and a walk through Borghese gardens is a nice escape. Very nice breakfast room and good assortment of foods.
This hotel is too far from local Rome Termini or Metro for easy access. So unless you prefer a taxi or bus it is some distance to travel with luggage.

Dear Jesy,

Thank you for your kind review. It is our pleasure to hear you emphasizing the professionalism of our staff. We all are happy when we can make our guests’ stays as comfortable as possible.
Regarding the location, the closest metro station “Castro Pretorio” is located about 600 meters from the Hotel. Any way a bus station is at about 50 meters from us.

With the best regards of all our staff.

“Charming hotel with neighborhood location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 December 2011 via mobile

Stays here from 9/25-10/2 and the hotel was magnificent! The location is a bit out of the way from tourist spots, but that is what makes it charming. I was lucky enough to have a room with a terrace, which included French doors from the room to the terrace. The terrace had a table and two chairs, and overlooked the city street below. It was so fun to sit there late at night and have a glass of wine while listening to the sounds of Rome! The hotel was clean and comfortable. The rooms were small, but that is to be expected for Europe. The terrace, in my opinion, was huge.. Almost the size of the room! Spent many hours out in it. The hotel staff spoke English and were very friendly! They would call a cab for us and it would arrive within 2-3 minutes. Can't wait to stay here again!
