“Excellent low cost option in a convenient location with friendly helpful staff”

The hotel is situated within walking distance of most of the main historical attractions. The Vatican can be reached on foot in about 30 minutes but if walking isn't your thing their is a metro station 5 mins away. You can get unlimited public transport for 3 days for €3. The hotel staff are all very friendly and the their is a cosy family feel. The hotel is low cost but excellent value for money. Breakfast is continental but their is good selection. Their is a lovely restaurant right next door for the evening and their are many restaurants, cafes and bars within walking distance. If you are on a limited budget you won't be disappointed with this hotel. I ave paid much more and got much less. Excellent value.

This hotel is a very nice hotel to stay, right in the center of Rome, good value& service, nearby the Termini station and walking distance (10 minutes).
The beds and bathroom are good, the room is not too big, but like I said good value for money. the staff is very friendly and brakfast is nice!
Apart from that it is nicely situated to all the highlights in Rome.

“Excellent hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

The hotel Crowns is a very good hotel. The price is identical to the service. Very good attention and predisposition of the employees. The rooms are pretty and complete. The breakfast is very rich, abundant and varied. Even it is croissant warm. The hall of entry is very wide and agreeable. I recommend it!!!

Just read a real negative review of Hotel Corona and was wondering if we had actually stayed at the same hotel. Our experience was quite different.

We have just departed Rome after 5 nights in a 2 bedroom family suite. It was a great way to end our 5 week Euro journey. The hotel is close to Termini, buses, and good restaurants and bars. The markets down the street are interesting (though setup is a bit noisy at 600am if you are a sensitive sleeper). it's a great spot to start the walking tours.

We found our rooms quite adequate for the price. They were very clean, light, in good repair and had 2 TVs.

The hotel is family managed. We found the owners and staff always very friendly and helpful in organizing travel, advising on restaurants and sightseeing and helping us with problems. Breakfast was also good - all the basics with a very entertaining Nona ruling the roost!

Only complaint - would like to have had had a fridge in the room to keep water cold, store some food, and to have had some tea/coffee making facilities.

Summary - would not hesitate using Corona again.

“WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

I had the dis-pleasure in staying at this inhospitable hotel. My 21 day holiday started in London, then Paris, Venice, Florence and finally ended in Rome. Every hotel we stayed in out did the last and we were enjoying every bit of our holiday and then we went to Rome! When the transfer company struggled to even find the hotel, I started to get a bit concerned. The hotel is literally hidden in a dingy & dodgy dead end. We were greeted with, " sorry we can't assist with your luggage, there's no porter at this hotel!" Firstly, the attitude of the hotel manager was appalling. He clearly demonstrated that he was highly frustrated with his job and that he didn't have the owners best interest in mind. We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and regretted every second of it. I cannot understand why my travel agent even booked this dreadful hotel compared to the rest of the hotels for this holiday. Secondly, the room had a damp stench in it and the beddings to the carpets on the floor were kept in horrid condition. My daughter compared the bathroom/toilet to that of a hospital. My biggest problem was the blatant attitude towards the hotel guests. Does the management team at this hotel not realize that they need the tourists future business?? Would it hurt them to at least pretend to be friendly??Just based on the hotel managers comment to the couple that was robbed in December, he was not apologetic just defensive!! The owner of this establishment should genuinely look into sending some of his staff on some service and hospitality courses and look into these criticisms constructively. Herman SA
