Three friends and I booked this hotel about a month before our trip. We needed a place to stay for one night before our study abroad program began.

I arrived at the hotel after the three girls had. I was very confused about it's location. There is a sign outside of the building above a random driveway. Aside from the sign, there is no direction about how to proceed. At the end of the driveway, there is a small elevator. It only fits one person with luggage. In the elevator, I believe there was a sign that said what floor the hotel was on.

Once I found the hotel, I had to ring a bell for service at the front desk. The man told me what room my friends were in, but upon wandering around the confusing hallways, I couldn't find it. Eventually, I had him personally walk me there. The room had four beds in it, which were more like cots. This room was not meant for four people and their luggage. It was not comfortable. The stand-up shower and bathroom in general were clean, surprisingly. We had trouble locking our door with the old key, but it worked once we figured it out. The wifi password system is confusing and doesn't work.

We paid too much for so little. $200 Euro for the night altogether for 4 people.

It was terrible staying. When we booked the room, they told us there would be air conditioner. However, there was nothing and then we talked to a guy there. He took us to another room with a fan and kept saying that was an air conditioner!!!! It was late at night, so we had to accept. The day after, we tried to talk to another guy and we finally changed to a room with air conditioner but the room was really small.

Most of staff were very impolite, answering without smile (sometimes with anger)! We would never return!

Information about this hotel is misleading from web description. Ara Pacis
is overpriced , filthy , smelly place . Peeling wallpaper everywhere, very
tiny washroom, spoted mattress , Do I need to say more ?
We ordered pick up from Fiumicino , driver was 40 min late with old no air
conditioning Jaguar , we paid 55 euro . There is small clean buss - 40 euro.

First impression was note great, but got better - I arrived late on Saturday night and they had limited rooms left. So, they changed me (from Room #3 to #11) on Sunday and it was a lot brighter and larger, with a much better & cleaner bathroom.I stayed a week, and it was fine for the price - on hindsight I might have searched for other location, but it would have been pricier. It was a 3-star; the hotel staff were helpful and friendly enough, and breakfast was ok. There were marvelous large marble steps to the Hotel, which was on 3rd floor of the building. There was an elevator and it was old, but worked fine. Location was super, as it was easy to walk everywhere. I walked about 10 minutes down the Tiber River towards St. Peter's & Vatican daily - beautiful view. This is Rome...there are neat places, and it had character. It was clean. WiFi was free and worked in the lobby area - staff said it didn't in most rooms - other friends stayed in hotels which charged 11 - 14 euros/day for internet.
