“V affordable, but I'm sure there are better places”

Stayed at the place for a couple of days and we were the only people in the house. The only good thing is that it is extremely close to the Cavour station. We ran out of bread so called the owners, but they weren't in Rome so had to manage without bread. The air conditioners weren't functioning properly so I woke up in the middle of the night and had to attempt fixing it.Not a good experience. I'm sure you will find better places around

“Why did we pick this one??”

We arrived at about 5pm --- no-one to meet us. Called the owner --- stuck in traffic 2 hours away. Where do we store our luggage --- luckily it wasn't raining. 7pm owner arrives, receipt book in one hand, other hand ready to accept our cash! One tiny bathroom for 7 rooms (all in use) --- shower broken, toilet dirty. Breakfast a joke --- biscuits and coffee --- I could go on --- just don't even consider it!

“Great location, excellent price”

Stayed at this place for 3 nights. It only cost us 100 Euro. We had a room with double bed. You do share a bathroom with other renters (they have their own rooms), but it's pretty descent..There was no one there the first few days when we stayed, so we didn't have any problems with bathroom crowding. The place was clean, there was a heater in the room (it was cold when we went)..but the furnishings are very old. They gave us a key for the apartment and it was your typical old style 1800s keys. lol.

As long as you don't expect too much, you get what you pay for. This place is walking distance to the colosseum, about 10 min walk..and located right across the subway. We didn't have any problems, and it was very convenient.

“In a word - mediocre”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 June 2010

Well placed to visit the collesseum and Palatine and not far from the metro. The room was somewhat dark but clean and the beds were comfortable. The shared bathroom was mediocre due to the broken shower head and the drain being blocked. Breakfast was more substantial than other places – with milk available for tea (not the norm), jam and butter and yogurt. Later, having stayed at other places in Italy we did feel this place wasn't value for money.

“Picture staying at your long-lost Italian ancestor's flat...FABULOUS!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 June 2010

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Red Rose B&B for four nights while in Rome.

After staying in hostels for the past three weeks, it was a nice break from the loud, crowded summer crowds that hostels seems to bring. The owner was an older, friendly Italian businesswoman, who, after recording our passports and taking payment, provided us with a map, a fridge filled with food, and a beautiful, fully-furnished, old-Italian bedroom in which to sleep, complete with fresh linens and a bathroom with all amenities included (toothpaste, shaving cream, shampoo, conditions, soap, etc).

The location was perfect, safe and super close to the supermarket, the metro, and the Colloseo. Another couple stayed in the bedroom down the hall, whom we barely saw.

In the mornings, the owner (presumably) left out a carafe of fresh hot, delicious coffee, and various pastries with nutella, different types of jam, and milk / juice, so we were able to fill up before going out to explore. If coffee and pastries aren't your thing, there is also another small-kitchen area off to the side with a cook top, along with pots, pans, dishes, forks, glasses, cooking utensils, etc - everything you need if you plan to eat in.

Staying here made our trip carefree and splendid. We definitely plan on visiting Red Rose again during our next trip to Roma!
